Beyond excited to announce that @lemonsqueezy has been *acquired* by @stripe to help build a global merchant of record solution.
Such a surreal moment.
Let's look back before we look ahead.

Introducing Sora, our text-to-video model.
Sora can create videos of up to 60 seconds featuring highly detailed scenes, complex camera motion, and multiple characters with vibrant emotions.

Prompt: “Beautiful, snowy Tokyo city is bustling. The camera moves through the bustling city street, following several people enjoying the beautiful snowy weather and shopping at nearby stalls. Gorgeous sakura petals are flying through the wind along with snowflakes.”

@calebporzio I’ve been super happy with @KuberaApp . It’s pretty much a spreadsheet that also connects to your accounts.
English

3 years ago I started tracking my net worth in a spreadsheet every month.
I log into all my accounts (banks/investments/mortgage), grab the totals and plop em in.
Every month, I duplicate last month's sheet and update all the numbers.
I haven't missed a single month because I genuinely look forward to it.
It keeps me acutely aware of where I'm at financially, also where the market is at too.
Before that I tried everything under the sun: Mint, YNAB, Tiller.
My conclusion: nothing automated works (way too much babysitting failing account connections) and it's actually GOOD for you to log into your stuff every month (pay cards, upload missing tax documents, etc.)
I'll put a link to this template in the next tweet

Sam Altman returning to the @OpenAI office on Monday -- V2

Starting to see less value in building AI apps with @llama_index and @langchain since GPTs and Assistants API were announced by OpenAI.
Looks like many problems should be able to be solved by combining base LLMs with Actions/Functions natively.
English

Someone’s going to get very rich connecting loads of tools like Notion, Loom and Discord to a centralised AI embedding.
Feed all company data into one easily usable tool to let employees search what’s ever been said and done in the past to always be up to date.
“Hey AI, what are our main metrics for 2024?”

@vercel Other thing that annoyed me is there is no CDN (For frontend assets) / DDOS protection in Digital Ocean. They actually suggest you move your NS over to Cloudflare!
English

Thinking of moving over to @vercel now that they have serverless:
- Postgres
- Redis
- S3 compatible blob storage
- Cron
- Python edge
- PHP edge
All for $20 month.
English

Finally got a deployment out on Digital Ocean.
- FastAPI behind the App/Container platform. $12
- Laravel app on traditional droplet VM. $6.
- Postgres DB. $12.
- S3 compatible blob storage on Spaces. $5.
Loving the easy interface, only annoying thing is every container replica is ~$12 / month so might get expensive when scaling.

@catalinmpit I never managed to get any value from side projects relating to my full-time work because without a clear goal, I agree it is very mentally draining.
When building side projects where my goal is to build reliable side income, my mental capacity seems to be greatly increased.
English

No.
I have a life outside work.
After 8 hours of work, I want to spend time with my family, relax, and do my hobbies.
The only time I might build side projects, IS if I don’t have a job or contribute to a real-world project already.
If you have time & the mental capacity, build them. But they’re not mandatory.
What’s your take, by the way?
*Note: They’re great for learning new stuff or developing your skills further, but they are time consuming and mentally taxing.*

Like the smart phone, everyone will have a smart AI assistant in their pocket/home very soon.

@housecor The best tests are those that test your business requirements are being satisfied. Types only guarantee your code is well formed, they say nothing about the behaviour of the code.
