@Ripamaru @KirkWrites79 When I use “better”, I’m referring to depth of skill and technique. Leo has given some great performances, but he’s not capable of the sort of performances Bale is.

I saw a comment saying Denzel has limited range and this is why its difficult to discuss acting with people who have no understanding of technique. People get Best acting confused with Most acting.

@Ripamaru @KirkWrites79 Bale is undoubtedly a better, more versatile actor, given his ability to transform into different roles and work effectively. Leo is more like Jack Nicholson, where he dials up elements of his persona to suit that role. But ultimately he has three modes he uses. I like Leo.

@EmiTheGrant2 @KirkWrites79 Leo has never given a better performance than Bale in… The Machinist, Ford v Ferrari, Vice, Hostiles, The Big Short, Out of the Furnace, The Fighter, 3:10 to Yuma, Harsh Times, American Psycho. He simply not got that range.

I wasted so much money on clothes in my 20s that I should have just invested in my own health. Getting fit is worth more than any style makeover. A fit person looks better in jeans and a white tee than an unfit person in a $2000 designer outfit.

The manosphere doesn't speak positively about men though. It's all "You have no value except your wallet, if you don't lift, if you're not treating women as subhuman then youre a loser" etc. It's nihilistic, misogynist, blackpill sht where the only options are monster or loser.

Lifting and health are great, but improving yourself is about mental, relational and social health.

@mire_daly @willsolfiac I would have assumed that meant dressing unostentatiously at a level of formality roughly matching that of his subjects. Sure, if you’re interviewing a guy on a beach, wear a t-shirt. But he’s interviewing a guy in a suit! The t-shirt makes him more obtrusive, not less.
