@GerHerbert1 That's what the Garda ANPR system does so well, it ties the named licenced driver to the vehicle insurance and is updated daily. GDPR etc. would need to be considered but doubt it would be an impediment, similar legal basis to original sharing by insurance companies to Garda.

@dgdoyle84 Giving test centres access to that data would certainly raise legal & data‑protection issues plus its the Individual, not just vehicle, coverage so is this specific named learner insured, for this specific vehicle, for this specific test on this specific day?

This happens with all women's club games in Tallaght. You can have a few thousand at a cup final and no one watching would be any the wiser. The match photographers do it a lot as well which makes even less sense @LoiWomen
Tom Garry@TomJGarry

I wrote this for my former employers four & a half years ago but it still feels relevant tonight... If you've got one full stand and three empty ones, the full stand should be opposite the TV cameras, not behind them. It just looks better. #UWCL #MUwomen telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/…

@ciarancannon Interesting, assume that is by place of residence rather than destination? I'd expect the numbers come out a little different when taking into account those travelling in from surrounding counties etc. but yes for anyone who lives in around the city that can cycle, it wins easy.

@Shane_Mangan Paul Galvin got a 6 month ban for slapping a ref's notebook out of his hand andI think was less bad than this, i.e. he was directly engaged in converstion with the ref, not laying hands on him from behind. Anything less than a 6 month ban seems hard to justify.

@f1_headassery For all that they give out about Netflix fans, some don't realise their views largely formed by highlight reel fueled nostalgia.

@MaxRadwan Yeah they are always bad seats but what's making this worse is the advertising hoardings being pushed forward way ahead of the front row of seats. A very easy problem for them to solve if they have any interest in doing so.

Obviously this is a particularly egregious example but I always find it strange when some people clamour for front row lower-tier seats when going to games. Worst way to watch a football match live!

🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: An image from the new Camp Nou is going viral, as Barça fans report very low visibility in the first rows of seats behind the goals. Some people even complain about not being able to watch penalties shot on this side of the pitch.

@6Dutchgold Always puzzled me that the club finals never seemed to be promoted to visiting tourists when they were on St Patrick's Day.

It’s such a pity the club finals or another big GAA match isn’t on St Patrick’s day anymore . Was always the best way to enjoy our national holiday before it moved .

@oisinlangan @SkySports It just got added to Netflix, wouldn't be surprised if the commentator watched it this week! Also...'Top Gun but Nascar'...what a premise.

@MerriamWebster Generally in Ireland it would be St. Patrick's Day or Paddy's Day. The St. is dropped when referred to as Paddy's Day.

'St. Paddy's Day' is usually preferred over 'St. Patty's Day.' 'Paddy' is the shortened form of the original Irish spelling of 'Patrick,' which is 'Pádraig.' 'Patty' is the shortened form of 'Patricia.'

One of the lesser tragedies of extreme inequality is that the mega rich have no idea how to enjoy money. Make me that rich and I have a mini fridge of rare champagnes by the half bottle; I have rare songbirds marinated and barbecued; I eat muscat grapes from horizontal

@MrDavidConnolly I think different for an outfield player. If you have a stinker and get pulled off, even dropped, you still have a solid chance of playing your way back into the team off the bench in coming games. Second and third chances don't come around the same way for Goalies.

I also remember Mick leaving me on in one of the biggest games the country had seen in a World Cup playoff, when he took Robbie off instead. As I deserved to stay on. That’s the game. All this woke nonsense stuff. Ex players turned soft on TV for a pat on the back.
David Connolly@MrDavidConnolly

A manager made a selection error and couldn’t let it continue. I recall Mick McCarthy taking me off in the first half, for big Niall Quinn to change tact, against a low block international side in a World Cup qualifier. I didn’t need or want a cuddle. I survived 🤷‍♂️
