@fjzeit All the fucking time. The real kicker is that only by fucking around with half baked ideas can a full solution be reached. It's a bit of a catch 22 and TDD only makes it more costly. Sometimes a good walk is the best solution. Fitting it into a workday is pretty stressful.

Does your brain ever simply refuse to commit to writing code because the problem hasn’t yet been solved in your head and you hate fucking around with half baked ideas? And how do you fit that into a work day?

@JoaoSilvaWrites Yup. The problem is a lot of writers think that writing is a science, and forget it's an art. Knowing when and how to break the rules, and when to ignore them completely, is where the magic happens.

Dude, this new obsession in recent books with taking "show, don't tell" almost literally is making some of them unreadable. Not *every* little detail needs to be shown. It just makes for excessively convoluted stories and really, really hurts pacing. Just move the story along!

I must not be smart enough. But can someone explain how a 25% tariff doesn't get passed onto the customer? Most companies in almost every industry don't have that kind of margin to just absorb it. So this is definitely getting passed on...

@JulesL_art @SawyerMerritt Higher costs generally. Costs on foreign goods usually goes up immediately, local goods will generally rise too as a result of inflation caused by increased cost of imports. Long term you might get more local industries taking over from imports, so maybe more jobs eventually 🤷

NEWS: Trump has just signed an executive order officially imposing 25% tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada, as well as a 10% duty on China. Energy resources from Canada will have a lower 10% tariff. The tariffs are now in effect.

@pitdesi @simonsarris that is a major driver of it. schools have known for decades which degrees were absolutely worthless and need to steer people out of those degrees into something worthwhile.

Recall one of the most insane graphs ever: After a decade men paid off ~30% of their loans and women paid off ~3% Men pay down student debt and women don't. They have different expectations around college's use and different sensitivity to cost-benefit.

Hey @elonmusk and @SpaceX the USS JFK is being scrapped at the Port of Brownsville. You have a convenient opportunity to create an offshore launch platform with a poetic twist. Boat nerds, physics nerds, any reason why this wouldn't be able to carry GSE and a Mechazilla?

@chrismoon2040 @qcapital2020 If Tesla were a car company that would make him a relevant expert. Unfortunately it's aslo an energy company and a robotics company which rather muddies the water. I've no idea if the valuation is valid (most likely not) but treating it as a car maker is a flawed approach.
