Kids have received nothing for the future from a school. Kids were “paid” for work completed. Not apples to apples at all.

Most of the comments on this post are not reading the part about buyouts for coaches. Just like coaches and other professional sports, players should sign contracts and there should be buyouts if the athlete does not fulfill his or her contract. This is the wild Wild West right now. There has to be stipulations put in to prevent the kind of movement we currently see.

Over 1200 CBB players have entered the portal in 2 days. 41 coaches have either been fired or chose to pursue another job. Buyouts for coaches leaving BUT over 1200 players leave with zero payback for free tuition, food, housing, travel , clothing, recruiting visit , massage, nutritionist , per diem on road trips, shoes, gear, mental and physical health care …and pay for play $$$ they received.

@GameDayGabi They are clearly very improved, but they also have probably played the worst P5 schedule in the country: 3 of college footballs worst games out of conference and 3 of the 4 worst big ten teams. Purdue might be 3-3 or 4-2 with that schedule and we suck.

Players in other sports have had this kind of run of concussions, been shut down for an extended period, come back and concussions haven't been a problem again.
This isn't a conversation most people have the information necessary to have, including me.
