@FCC @GovTimWalz Can you do something about these (probably) unlawful monopolistic practices from Comcast? I'm pretty sure that exclusive bulk Internet agreements are illegal under FCC rules.

@quantumfiber My apartment complex sent out a confusing e-mail encouraging people to cancel their Quantum Fiber subscriptions. They have a new bulk billing arrangement with Comcast. Any chance you could get them to clarify that residents can keep fiber service?
Thanks!
I'm guessing that Comcast sends out misleading marketing material to apartments, in an effort to try to establish monopolies in areas that have ISP choice.

@Velvet_Sundown There's one simple way to prove you're real. Upload a music video of you actually playing a song (so we can see that the motions of the players match up with the music). AI video generators currently can't sync up audio/video for any more than a few seconds at a time.
English

@elonmusk Simple -- it's a political bargaining tool to push through legislation that would otherwise have a small chance of passing.

@omarh007 @quantumfiber Unfortunately, I think it's a different password for each modem. You will probably need to have someone sent out to give you a replacement sticker unfortunately.
English

@BrianBosak2 @quantumfiber thank you. mine was just installed on the 16th - i dont have a sticker with a username and pw. is there a standard pw that is used?
English

@quantumfiber You seem to be having a DNS outage at the moment: downdetector.com/status/quantum…
Workaround is to use 8.8.8.8 as a DNS provider instead of Quantum Fiber DNS.
English

@omarh007 @quantumfiber You can change it for all devices on the network by logging into your modem at http://192.168.0.1 and changing the DNS server under DHCP settings there. You may have to reboot your modem/router for it to take effect.
English

@BrianBosak2 @quantumfiber did this work on people's phones? worked on my computer but not my phone. also will not work with iot devices that i can't access to update the dns server.
Hopefully this gets resolved soon/

This audit was repeated at the Department of Labor. Initial results:
- 380 Microsoft 365 licenses with zero users
- 128 Microsoft Teams conference room licenses; only installed in 30 rooms
- 250 VSCode licenses; only using 33
- 129 Photoshop licenses; only using 22.
- 5 cybersecurity licenses, each with > 20k seats; DOL headcount is < 15k
Department of Government Efficiency@DOGE
Agencies often have more software licenses than employees, and the licenses are often idle (i.e. paid for, but not installed on any computer). For example, at GSA, with 13,000 employees, there are: - 37,000 WinZip licenses - 19,000 training software subscriptions (and multiple parallel training software platforms) -7,500 project management software seats for a division with 5,500 employees - 3 different ticketing systems running in parallel Fixes are actively in work.

@elonmusk It looks like it posts as X CORP PAID FEATURES now instead of what it previously was:
X CORP. PAID FEATURES (a bunch of numbers) CA
This change might be causing issues on some payment backends.
English

@elonmusk For some reason, my credit card company thought my X subscription renewal (which I've had for a few months now) was fraudulent. Did you change something recently on your payment backend that could cause additional flags? I was able to resolve this -- but it's something you might want to be aware of if you're seeing an uptick in transaction failures.

@sama I made a song about the dangers of AGI, ironically using AI: youtu.be/jg5xXNzrbXU?si…
The current incentive structure around AGI development seems to guarantee a very bad outcome in the event that AGI is actually achieved.

Elderly man arrested in Britain for “causing anxiety” with a social media post. This is insane.
Thank God there is a constitutional right to freedom of speech in America!
RadioGenoa@RadioGenoa
British police capture and arrest an elderly man because some of his social media posts caused someone anxiety.

@elonmusk If you want a simple way to dismantle the administrative state, consider repealing the federal arbitration act. This would make it unnecessary for regulatory agencies to sue private companies, because these problems could be solved through class-action lawsuits which are currently not feasible in many cases due to binding arbitration agreements and class action waivers. Making these clauses illegal could save a huge amount of taxpayer dollars.

Because the United States government can just keep printing money to pay back its debt or borrow more debt. A regular person only has a limited amount of credit because they are subject of the United States government for example. The United States government being its own sovereign can do what it wants.
