Kushal Das breathed life into Football House, gave character to concrete. And he empowered people. On his watch, @IndianFootball returned to the top 100 in FIFA rankings. Couldn't have done it without him, said @StephenConstan. #IndianFootball

🚨 #BREAKING The AFC has advised bidding nations that it is abandoning the bidding process for the 2031 & 2035 AFC Asian Cups. This comes after a request from FIFA to move the tournament to even-numbered years as part of a change to the international match calendar.

The result of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final has been reversed, with Morocco now standing as 3-0 winners after a stunning decision from the competition organisers. The Confederation of African Football released a statement on Tuesday evening saying that Senegal had been declared to have forfeited the game, which they had won 1-0 on January 18. CAF said the decision came after an appeal from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation following that match, which Senegal won in extra time after walking off the field during normal time in protest at a refereeing decision. In December 1908, after hearing Bipin Chandra Pal speak in Cambridge, Jawaharlal Nehru wrote to his father: “I objected greatly to his not taking the Mohammadans into consideration. Another thing which annoyed me was his repeated references to the spiritual mission of India. India, he said, was “God’s chosen country” and the Indians the “chosen race”— a phrase which reminded me of Israel.” Nehru was then nineteen years of age.

Lost a part of myself today -- devastated to hear about the passing of Kushal-sir (Das) -- the man who quietly carried #IndianFootball through some of its most defining years -- never seeking the spotlight, always serving the game from behind the scenes. Few, perhaps none, understood sports governance the way he did -- I dont know whom to turn to today. Ironically, the exceptional human being that he was, he disliked being photographed. Many times he would insist I delete his photographs after I clicked them. Forgive me sir today -- I’m sharing a few to relive the memories -- and from my camera reels. Indian Football owes you gratitude that words cannot measure. Rest in peace. #FootballFamily #RIP

Deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Kushal Das, the former General Secretary of the All India Football Federation (AIFF). A seasoned administrator, his decade-long tenure was instrumental in professionalizing Indian football and successfully hosting the historic 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Beyond the boardroom, his commitment to youth development and building a modern roadmap for the sport leaves a lasting legacy. During this time of immense grief, my heartfelt condolences are with his family and the football fraternity he served with such distinction. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

He was instrumental in modernizing and organizing the functioning of the AIFF and also bringing the FIFA U17 World Cup to India. Placed a lot of trust and freedom on us, the younger lot. Go well, Mr. Das!

Shattered to hear that we've lost Kushal Das, former AIFF General Secretary, and ICC and IMG CFO. I knew Kushal for 30 years, and worked very closely with him during the U17 FIFA World Cup. Kushal loved football and having a senior FIFA event in India was his dream!

AIFF also got a head coach with World Cup experience but Amelia Valverde’s true test will be if she is asked to stay. That said, if players look confused about their roles, shouldn't it be on the coaching staff? @afcasiancup @IndianFootball
