@BBCMOTD In all honesty you have to feel for Liverpool as over the years they've never benefitted from dodgy refereeing decisions ever. Imagine if VAR had been around to see Dudek at least 5 yards off his line?

@BBCMOTD How on earth was that conclusive evidence? After watching it 20 times, slowed down, frame by frame, who can say with absolute certainty that it was a clear and obvious error?

"The goal shouldn't have been given." ❌ Should Benjamin Sesko's goal have been disallowed for handball? 🤔

Trump is now describing in some detail the Montreal Cognitive Test, which doctors use to spot the early signs of dementia, and which he proudly declared his doctors have made him take three times. He thinks it’s an intelligence test.

@jonmikesav8 I remember a similar scenario a few years back where we had no central defenders, I think Carrick played centre half. West London too, Fulham beat us 3-0 I think.

From LIV Golf to Dead Golf? A huge warning here that soft power moves and diversification extravagance shouldn't be seen by sport as permanent. Via NYTimes..

@jonmikesav8 I hope that this refereeing controversy doesn't deflect from just how shockingly poor we were tonight.

It’s got to the point now where you expect the match officials to be totally incompetent. It’s not a surprise or outrage anymore. It’s the norm.

@RedMarrow_ I'm pretty sure that Michael Carrick was a prime mover here, which suggests to me that he's going to be full time manager.

@kelvinstrangee @henrywinter I largely agree, though left with nothing is a bit harsh. I just feel Billingham is a bit of a show pony, hugely over hyped.

England are not in the class of France, Argentina or Spain. But they do have some exceptional talent. Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane are world class. So is John Stones - at his best. Trent Alexander-Arnold is world class - in possession. Declan Rice is having the season of his life. There are more reasons to be positive going into this tournament than negative. But England have to be bold and play to their strengths.  Imagine if England were bold and, if all fit, went into the World Cup… Pickford; Alexander-Arnold, Stones, Guehi, O’Reilly; Anderson, Rice; Saka, Bellingham, Gordon; Kane.  Stones would have some covering to do of Alexander-Arnold when he raced upfield. Bellingham gets heavily scrutinised but he’s a big-game player, a winner and used to pressure at Real Madrid. He has to start. England also have an exceptional head coach in Thomas Tuchel who can make the right changes at the right time. England have a chance of progressing to the quarter-finals of the World Cup and then anything’s possible. But only if they are bold. Not gung-ho. But bold. Risk/reward. #ENG

@henrywinter Yet all these players who have got Spurs into this position will baulk at the prospect of playing in the "lowly" championship, and will get moves away to other PL teams because they are "talented". It's laughable. NFFC showed 100% more fight and desire just like MGW said.

Tottenham Hotspur are going down unless they show some fight. Spurs fans played their part backing the team, giving the squad that powerful greet before the Forest game. A few players like Archie Gray play their part, fighting for the cause, a 20-year-old showing more commitment than some senior players. It’s not about ability or reputation now, it’s concentration and commitment. It's about fight. Forest showed it. Morgan Gibbs-White, a player Spurs were desperate to bring in for his character as well as playing calibre, highlighted what Spurs miss. “They have got that incredible talent but we showed that fight, hunger and desire more than them,” Gibbs-White told Match of the Day. That fight, hunger and desire to stay with a runner, to block a cross, to compete for a cross, for a ball, for a loose ball, to rage against the dying of the Premier League light. Djed Spence, Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso switched off for the Forest goals. Others culpable, too. Blame also lies with the recruitment for bringing in some individuals who have the flair but not the fight. It’s not new, it even pre-dates Antonio Conte’s lambasting of players and the club culture. It’s a lack of leadership. It’s an issue of mismanagement from on high, as much as poor management from the dugout. Igor Tudor is out of his depth, clearly, but he’s only part of the problem. The whole club needs a reset. A proper, independent all-areas review of the club should come in the summer. For now, it's about players waking up from this sleepwalk towards the Championship. It’ll be one of the biggest stories in the 34 years of the Premier League if Tottenham go down with their history, stadium, fanbase. Spurs were one of the “big five” clubs whose chairmen drove the original breakaway from the Football League in 1992. Damaging financially, £150m minimum. Damaging for recruitment – of players and coaches. Would Mauricio Pochettino return if Spurs were in the Championship, a world away from the Premier League, let alone Champions League? It would trigger an exodus/sale of players. The only ones who can stop the drop will not suffer long-term - beyond having the stain of relegation on their playing records. Spurs are currently 17th on 30 points, without a PL win since Dec 28. They probably need a minimum of eight points from Sunderland away, Brighton home, Wolves away, Villa away, Leeds home, Chelsea away and Everton home. Eight points from seven games. Sounds doable. But do they have the fight, hunger and desire? #THFC
