@Kolie_Yola @DadaMorero 2 thing: 1, When citizens fail to take responsibility and not report wrong doing, and 2, when the authorities failed to do their job. Unfortunately it takes 2 to keep a city in good stead.
English

How did so many people just randomly occupy so much prime space in the CBD of a major city, Mayor @DadaMorero? For so many years?

@WesternCapeGov And don't send kids to school when publicly available models indicate things has the potential to go bad.

Avoid low‑lying areas and never try to cross flowing water.

@jamesstyan James don't gaslight people. Everyone knows that predicting the weather is not an exact science which we understand. However, there was obvious probability that we could be on the receiving end of a severe storm. Learn from it and be more cautious in future.
English

Don't be daft. The WCED closes schools based on recommendations from the Disaster Management authorities (which are staffed by highly competent people and includes inputs from SAWS). And any school can apply to be closed. 227 did apply for today beyond those the WCED closed.
Mbekezeli@MbekezeliMB
The Western Cape Education Department and MEC David Mainer was grossly irresponsible not to shut down schools in the Cape Metro today 😡 Some principals sent kids back home at 11:00. But the conditions outside are so bad, are kids going to even get home safely?
English

@UrbanLo How schools were closed in Cape Metro areas are beyond me. The poor children that needs to make use of public transport to get to school, I hope they are safe. @alanwinde @DavidMaynier

Praying that all Cape Town residents will be safe in the storm.

@ZANewsFlash But still no arrests of the police who actually facilitated Magaqa's murder...they are basically proving Fadiel Adams right.

English

@mnikazi_wendawo @politicaleconZA @ShweleNgelosi Forget about the man. Everyone seems to focus on him. There are legal and constitutional arguments to be made that far exceed the man here. This case actually has far reaching consequences i.e. the role of a parliamentarian or oversight vs investigation. The courts will decide
English

@did87j @politicaleconZA @ShweleNgelosi Ey, this is not about whether he was given permission to enter or not, it's about him lying and saying he was mandated by parliament. If you don't understand this, then I can't help you.
English

Fadiel Adams threatened to kill Lieutenant General Mkhwanazi. He called Lieutenant General Mkhwanazi a "little bitch," yet people are not condemning such behaviour coming from a member of parliament. A member of parliament threatening to kill a police officer in a country where police officers are killed daily must not be left unpunished. The South African Police Service must add further charges.

@k_diedricks @Constitution_94 There are issues with the way the PKTT conducted themselves and they cannot be trusted. It is not okay for an agency to become a law unto themselves. Again, forget about the man for a minute, why wait 9 years to act when they knew along a long who was involved.
English

I did watch the proceedings. That was his version. The state argued differently. The question was asked “why go to Michells Plain SAPS” when he was not contacted by Michells Plain”. He knew who was looking for him. He admitted it in his many media interviews. He said he did not want to be arrested by the PKTT as he believes they are conflicted. That is not for him to decide but for a presiding officer who hears the case. As for the High Court allegation, if he was serious about approaching the High Court why did he not obtain an interdict preventing his arrest. This man thought he can find favour with the Public by using the media to cast aspersions on the PKTT, General Khumalo and General Mkwanazi. Let’s not forget the likes of Mary De Hass did the same and she was exposed. I do believe he will get bail but I am certain he will be exposed for his role in trying to discredit the PKTT for the benefit of those who they were investigating. All the evidence which has been led at Madlanga which corroborates the allegations made by Mkwanazi and there are still people out there who want to discredit him and those who are exposed the rot.
English

The PKTT is being vindictive and intimidating. They are becoming law unto themselves now!
They are starting to trample on people's constitutional rights.
There was no need to treat this guy the way they did.
Malema never spent a single day in jail, despite the fact that he was convicted.
He was allowed to bring himself to court, insult the court and police, make treats and stuff. No one said he needed to be taught a lesson.
PKTT folks are having fragile feelings. They dont want anyone to say anything about their conduct.
There is still no justification to drag someone who killed no one to jail, Worse by a police van from CPT to Dbn. Regardless of the reasons

English

@politicaleconZA @did87j @ShweleNgelosi In both cases, fair process must apply in line with the laws of the country... it's as simple as that, not these pick-and-choose opinions expressed based on who we side with.
English

@k_diedricks @Constitution_94 He literally went to the police station to establish if he is wanted and they said no. He had to approach the high court for answers. All this after the warrant was issued. Do you even watch the court proceedings today? If you did then you are on your own.
English

This guy was asked to hand himself over. Instead of doing that, he wanted to fight a war of words through the media and create atmosphere before handing himself over. The SAPS cannot be expected to wait until he decides when is the right time to hand himself over. They followed process by arresting him and transporting him to KZN. Citizens of this Country is treated the same way every day. These Politicians cannot and must not be treated differently. If they commit crimes, they must be treated like us ordinary folk.
The SAPS does not issue warrants, nor do they make decisions who must be prosecuted. That is the competence of the NPA. So to say the PKTT is becoming a law unto themselves is a bit unfair. What is clear is that the NPA was consulted and they decided to charge this man and to issue a warrant of arrest.
