Of course, the major news was the announcement of a special dividend, paid at the same time as the regular dividend, in June of 1.50 euros per share. Total amount paid will be 4.2 billion euros. 3 billion euros of that will go to Odet, who has committed to paying out at least 2 billion as a special dividend itself. So, Odet will end with an extra 1 billion euros cash, Sofibol will get more than 1 billion euros cash and I believe Bollore itself will end up with around 700 million euros from the dividend it originally paid.

Update on $BOL.PA net asset value with 2025 results being released today. The 68% discount isn't that far off from where they've been of late.

@SpecSitsCapMgmt That’s true. We will have to wait a whole year to see how much gets back again to Bollore. They could use 638 entities to buy back shares at 73 listed levels during this time 😂

@diegobmilano I saw that after I wrote the post. But being Bollore, a large portion of the cash will funnel back to Bollore itself given the control loop.

Bollore $BOL.FP proposes EUR1.50/share exceptional dividend, a 34% dividend yield to today’s closing. That is EUR4.2 bi, with EUR3 bi flowing through to Compagnie de L’Odet $ODET.FP. That should give ODET fire power to make any move it wishes within the Bollore Galaxy.

And Odet will pay 2/3 of what they receive as dividends too

It's pretty unreal that people still believe Gutenberg invented the printing press, when it was invented a whole 7 centuries before in China. When Gutenberg painstakingly printed 300 bibles in 1450 and went bankrupt because of it (as that lady describes 👇), some texts in Asia were already printed at 1 million copies (!!!) as early as the 8th century! That's the case of the "One Million Pagodas and Dharani Prayers" commissioned by Empress Shōtoku of Japan around 764–770 AD (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vi%C5%9Bu…), a series of one million small wooden pagodas each containing a printed Buddhist scroll, thousands of which survive to this day. Heck China had mass printed paper money - called jiaozi - during the Song Dynasty, around the 10th century AD, so roughly 400-500 years before Gutenberg (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jiaozi_(c…)! It's probably only in the 18th or 19th century that 1 million copies of *anything* got printed in Europe, meaning we were behind Asia by literally a whole millennium in that regard. Quite the testament of our incredibly parochial worldview that we turned a thousand-year technological lag into the founding myth of supposed Western intellectual superiority...
