@digasdigasdigas @krillyboy @BlueRepublik they are not israelis. why would they be able to vote in israeli elections?
English

This isn’t insightful! This mindset has existed for decades on end now
You want an actually difficult task?
“If Palestine wants to live, it’s going to have to learn to coexist with Judaism”
Or you can continue to fail at establishing a state for 80 more years
Hollow Point USA@HollowPoint_USA
"If Judaism has to die for Palestine to live, kill it."
English

@aweII219II @krillyboy @BlueRepublik Almost 3 million Palestinians in the West Bank are under IDF military occupation with no civil rights or ability to vote in Israeli elections, come on now
English

@digasdigasdigas @krillyboy @BlueRepublik the difference is that palestine has no state. in israel, there are civil rights for arabs, there is voting, what-have-you. in palestine there are people and terrorists and nothing between.
English

@aweII219II @krillyboy @BlueRepublik “the enemy seems to be actively against peace, therefore we must continue fighting” is a statement that can be made by both Israelis and Palestinians
English

@digasdigasdigas @krillyboy @BlueRepublik the settlers are allowed to exist because they are sponsored by the right wing government. the right wing government has popular support because israeli leftists keep committing political suicide by suggesting peace. israel cannot create peace with people who do not want peace.
English

@aweII219II @krillyboy @BlueRepublik The Israeli left didn’t commit political suicide it was murdered by Yigal Amir
English

@aweII219II @krillyboy @BlueRepublik The evil right wing settlers are ALLOWED to exist. They are breaking the law! They could easily be stopped!
Instead they are given IDF protection. That’s not the action a nation sincerely wanting peace and to be left alone takes
English

@digasdigasdigas @krillyboy @BlueRepublik false dichotomy. the truth is that israel as a nation is traumatized and selfish, and thats why the right wing is so evil and settlers exist. but it doesnt want to wipe out palestinians, or even take their land in general. in a general sense all it wants is (1/2
English

@aweII219II @krillyboy @BlueRepublik Okay, so which seems more plausible to you?
1. Israel sincerely wants peace with Palestinians, they just need a few more illegal settlements first!
2. Israel is doing as much as they can GET AWAY WITH without jeopardizing US/international support & legitimacy
English

@digasdigasdigas @krillyboy @BlueRepublik you arent supposed to be grateful. i hate likid and the kahanists. but you are supposed to ask youself, "why wouldnt they do that?" and then think "maybe they wouldnt do that because they dont want to."
English

@aweII219II @krillyboy @BlueRepublik I never really understand the "Israel could be ethnically cleansing/occupying the Palestinians harder if they wanted to" argument.
Isn't it bad enough they're doing it at all? Are we supposed to be grateful they aren't carpetbombing the west bank?
English

@aweII219II @krillyboy @BlueRepublik It is? More and more illegal settlements are being built by Israeli settlers in the West Bank every year, expelling Palestinians from land that is theirs under international law & treaty
English

@krillyboy @BlueRepublik then why isnt it expelling or killing the palestinians in Israel and the West Bank?
English

@Reik3r @sapientwilight @bbrsntd I don't have that much of a problem with people excusing the bad shit the axis of resistance does, I just hate when they deny it happens at all.
English

@digasdigasdigas @sapientwilight @bbrsntd That's an insane assumption, you must be an idiot. Do you honestly expect people to have the time & energy for a civil rights movement when they're currently being genocided by a neighboring power? Delusional af.
English

made a little infographic to help you understand

Oliver Wiseman@ollywiseman
How does a 21-year-old from Cambridge end up on a U.S. government watch list and living in a Hezbollah-controlled neighborhood of Beirut, making pro-Iran propaganda? A must-read from @FPJaySolomon on Calla Walsh's descent into extremism and the forces driving it. thefp.com/p/the-radicali…
English

@sapientwilight @bbrsntd I was assuming that indiscriminate violence against civilians would be on the same level of immorality as killing children and bombing hospitals
English

@digasdigasdigas @bbrsntd aside from the fact settlers committing violence are not civilians, does OP's picture even mention civilians anywhere?
English

@KnausgaardFacts Not exactly an easy task to create a prosperity metric. GDP per capita, though nowhere near perfect, does the job well enough in a lot of situations
English

the idea of GDP per capita being any indication of how prosperous a country is is a disgusting masturbatory gesture of capitalist “economists”
Crémieux@cremieuxrecueil
Capitalism creates prosperity
English

@irregnata @nadienadianadie Doing speculative archeological digs in the middle of the Sahara would be an expensive logistical nightmare, I don’t think any ruling class besides maybe the Anglos of the 19th century would be willing to try
English

Most deserts on earth may well be the funeral pyres of long forgotten civilizations: if this area is full of amazing relics, the Anglo American Zionist ruling class sure aren’t going to invest the capital necessary to find out
Maqzara@Maqitzara
The amount of Neolithic to late antiquity structures in the Sahara is insane lol

David Lynch is one of modern America’s greatest conservative artists but we’re not ready to have that conversation yet
A ৻ꪆ@doemisu
We have to un smol-bean-ify David Lynch
English

@DerekPederson3 there were numerous actions undergone with the clear intent of harming the civilians of Gaza
English

@DerekPederson3 You just can't square claim B with the fact that not only did Israel purposely bomb civilian infrastructure, but actively prevented aid from entering Gaza for months. Perhaps the militant/civilian death ratio was better than pure indiscriminacy, but
English

Very few people who agree with both of these correct claims:
A) The settler movement in the West Bank are modern-day fascists, and the Netanyahu government's implicit endorsement of the recent rein of terror there against Palestinians is not only morally repugnant but potentially catastrophic for the future of Israel and the region.
B) The IDF did not systematically target civilians in the Gaza Strip and I still have no idea why that became consensus when it's pretty obvious to me that, even if the IDF were simply *indifferent* to civilian loss of life, they would have easily killed orders of magnitude more people than they actually did kill, and in a much shorter time frame. And it would not even really be that unusual for urban combat.
