@staralliance I used United Airlines MileagePlus miles to purchase tickets on a flight operated by Turkish Airlines. Confirmation email from United shows luggage allowance of 1 piece per passenger. However, the Turkish airlines website shows *zero* pieces per passenger.

@TK_HelpDesk I already did, and was told that TK could not see any luggage allowance for my travel.

we were told that our luggage allowance was zero. to add insult to injury, we were told that, as we’d booked the flights via United (which does not have an office in TAS airport), we could not even pay for luggage.

@Tendar Just to clarify: this wasn't written by Girkin himself, but rather a post he forwarded from the "Черный полковник" account owned by Viktor Alksnis.

@Lufthansa_USA My outbound flight (TBS->MUC) has been delayed by 14 hours, causing me to miss my connecting flight (MUC->SAN). Your customer service phone is not answering and the livechat seems to be dead. Any idea how I can try to rebook my flight?

@christogrozev Interesting that there doesn’t seem to be a single Russian tricolor to be seen. Is that to be expected with this crowd?

"We will get into heaven as martyrs while they will just die" (c) Putin, and "On to Washington", chants a crowd in Russia. Copium overdose.

@maggiewillrise Incredibly useful term to help filter about 99% of the tweets coming out these days, re: the Russia-Ukraine war.

@jmurtazashvili My understanding was that this applied to those working for contractors, but not grantees. However, as I haven’t looked closely into this, I could be wrong.

The US has set up a program that allows Afghans who worked on civilian assistance programs to apply for asylum. But they can't apply from inside of Afghanistan. They have to leave in order to apply....in the middle of conflict.

@LaurentRuseckas @SMerler @MarcoGiuli Also conveniently missing from this chart is the $4 billion commitment from the US government to the COVAX global vaccine distro effort.

@SMerler @MarcoGiuli It's a morally wrong policy, for sure, but what exactly is the potential tangible negative impact on the lives of Americans (i.e. US interests)?

Say what you will of the EU #vaccine domestic procurement blunder. But looking at the bigger picture, I'm amazed at the US readiness to disregard the geopolitical implications of letting China (& Russia) be the major supplier of vaccines to the developing world. #VaccineDiplomacy
Gita Gopinath@GitaGopinath

Here is a snapshot of the largest producers of vaccines. Much more supply is in the pipeline but all countries will need to share. It is essential to vaccinate the most vulnerable in the world *now* for the benefit of everyone. The pandemic is not over until it is over everywhere

Reflections for Analyticon on if and how an international peace process will continue for the #Karabakh conflict. The OSCE Minsk Group carries on but Russia is much more in the driving seat, while crucial questions remain open. #more-15749" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">theanalyticon.com/?p=15749&lang=…

@nateschenkkan I actually created an account and poked around a bit. To state the obvious: Septuagenarian Gosplan dinosaurs should probably resist the urge to create social media platforms.

@joshuakucera Central Asia?? Besides Utemuratov, whose nickname referred to his mustache, which he subsequently shaved, I’m struggling to think of a single post-Soviet Central Asian (or Caucasus for that matter) leader with facial hair.
