@vigilamus @FalkTG It has extremely poor infrastructure for a city of its size. Nationalism blinds you from improving your city and your country. It's no wonder you've had a dictator for 20 years. I'm sorry.

How the fuck are you entitled to make these assessments? So Istanbul has a rapidly developing infrastructure? Idiot fuck, what do you think Istanbul is? This city has forever had a better and more developed infrastructure than a vast majority of your fucked up union, entire eastern flank of which is the fucking 3rd world.

I’ve been in Turkey (Istanbul) for the first time of my life. Some of my observations: - Istanbul is truly a city of contrasts between Europe and Asia. - While society is surprisingly young and more Western than one might expect, the presence of Islam is just as ubiquitous as that of Turkish nationalism. - I felt relatively comfortable there, though unfortunately it was too cold to use the pool. The food is good and affordable. - Istanbul has a rapidly developing infrastructure. IST Airport is huge, but unfortunately it’s quite far out of the city. - The people are very friendly; every taxi driver calls you "brother." - My hotel was near Taksim Square (Gezi Park)—the entire district (Beyoğlu) was closed off for May 1st. Since, unfortunately, many Turks really don’t speak English (especially taxi drivers and police), I was worried I wouldn’t be able to get to the hotel. In reality, nothing happens to you as long as you don’t act aggressively. I was able to get to the hotel normally despite the roadblocks. - The city has a truly unique location between the seas, the Bosphorus, and the mountains. Many streets are very winding. - The cost of living are low for someone from the West. As is well known, the lira is cheap. Taxi rides (1 hour) cost only 1,400 lira = €26. - What really surprised me as a European is how heavily regulated queer life is. There are no Pride flags, Grindr profile pictures are black, and clubs never give their real addresses. For a country that actually wants to join the EU, this is shocking.

(+) en Clarín: clar.in/3LCW6Oo

Again with this "Brussels" nonsense. The Mercosur vote expected to pass tomorrow will be by a majority of the EU's *democratically-elected national governments*. Not by some unaccountable bureaucrats. These nationalists know that, but they are trying to deceive people.
Péter Szijjártó@FM_Szijjarto

Hungary will vote against the EU-Mercosur free trade agreement tomorrow. The @EU_Commission is pushing to adopt and implement a deal that would open Europe to unlimited imports of South American agricultural products at the expense of the livelihoods of Hungarian farmers. We oppose this decision, as Brussels is once again ignoring the interests of our farmers…

Mercosur is not a mistake, it is a well thought out and planned strategy. It is that of a world where the market replaces morality and profitability with sovereignty. The multinationals dictate, Brussels writes and normalizes, and the European peoples must obey because the States no longer have any power to refuse. As for the propagandist media, they explain day after day that it is for the good of the planet. But this planet has never asked to import its beef, soybeans or country fish, which are ten thousand kilometers away. What is called fair trade has become a legal looting. Again, none of this is improvised. The World Economic Forum has been talking for years about "Great Food Transformation", the great food processing, a culinary version of the Great Reset. Its objective: to reduce meat consumption by 90% by 2050, impose insect and synthetic proteins, digitize traceability and centralize decisions in global governance structures. All that Europe applies through its treaties is only the implementation of this scenario. Mercosur is not a drift, it is the agricultural arm of the Great Reset. The European Commission is the executor: it destroys locally by the standard and compensates overall by the import. This is how a continent dies: not by war, but by the erasure of the link between man and earth. The same hand that erased free thought and extinguished the energetic fire now extinguishes free hunger. It is not a famine, it is a gentle disintegration, presented as progress. The citizen who no longer produces, no longer owns and no longer decides, is condemned to consume under supervision, according to Davos' recommendations. The Food Awakening is an alarm for the future. A people who no longer produce their food become slaves to those who sell them. A continent that imports its livelihood always ends up also importing its dependence. Digital has devoured our minds, the material our energy and here is the time when Mercosur, under the blessing of Davos, devours your belly. And Europe calls this sustainable progress.

Mercusor must be signed. Europe's reputation is at stake. If it's impossible to sign this trade agreement even after 26 years of negotiations, Europe will likely not have the credibility to ever sign a trade agreement again. It's true: There are disadvantages for some farmers. And the EU should do what it can to help them. But the damage to the EU and our economy would be considerable if we cannot show ourselves to be a partner who negotiates in good faith. Especially after the Trump tariffs, Europe needs partners and markets. We are historically deeply tied to the Mercusor countries and it's difficult to imagine a better partner for Europe. We need this deal - for our economy, but also for geopolitics.

India is a strange country We fail spectacularly at the macro level. Our roads are pathetic, cities almost unlivable, pollution and corruption are everywher. We are bad on most parameters for hygiene, water and civic infrastructure But for some reason, we are wildly successful at a micro level. Like retrieving an iPad from a crowded train. Moving and entire polling booth for one voter. Ensuring food is supplied across seven rivers, three jungles and one active volcano for one kid. We are bad where we are supposed to be good. We are good where people assume we will be bad.
Diya@diyaatwt

LORE UPDATE: I forgot my IPAD on a train to bhopal (Dakshin Express, 28.12.25) Realised an hour later, between all the chaos (and lots of crying 😭) we called #139 and registered a report on #RailMadad app.  Amazingly, within minutes we got a call from the helpline, a quick follow-up with RPF + the TTE on the train, and staff at the next station, Itarsi. The iPad was recovered!!
