This kind of thing happens more and more... Surgeons who refuse opioid pain medication after major surgery are arguably practicing below the standard of care.

Just was informed of a women who had hysterectomy. She unfortunately did not address aftercare prior to having surgery. Only Tylenol provided after. She expressed she was having difficulties with pain and nurses asked ‘if it was really that bad’. She felt dismissed #CPP #Insanity

Anti-opioid crusaders will sometimes overdose surgical patients on ketorolac (Toradol) in order to avoid opioids. Black Boxed Warnings make dosing clear. Higher doses mean more complications like kidney failure and NO IMPROVEMENT in pain control. Especially true for Sickle Cell.

@painadvocateAR It is legal to prescribe any drug for any purpose. Off label prescribing does set up a scenario for legal risks if harmful events occur related to this. Patients with complications from off label use should report that to the FDA and consider legal action.
