Paolo Di Stefano @distepa gave us an insight to the @coldiretti farmers' organization's approach, and some of the work going on in Italy 👇 👨‍🌾 As a farmers' organization, we see farmers as more than just food producers; they are key economic actors. Solutions like multifunctionality and diversification in farming are not only beneficial for the environment and livestock but ultimately for consumers too. 🌱🛒 💰 Making the transition to sustainable farming practices like precision breeding and biogas production requires significant investment. This is why we emphasize the need for financing. It's not just about reducing livestock; it's about sustainable practices and bridging gaps with consumers. In Italy, for example, efforts are being made to enhance transparency in farming and raise public awareness about the value of real agriculture and healthy food. Lab-grown food might seem like a quick fix, but it's not a sustainable solution. 🌾🤝 🌍 Interested in how short and long value chains can coexist? Check out the World Farmers Organization (WFO) website for insightful documents on this topic.
