As #GES2021 takes place today, and governments and donors make important pledges for education, let's remember it is also about how money is spent - with greater priority needed for early childhood education that is currently neglected: <1% of education aid spent on ECE

Finally, in the brief we looked at how accelerated, bridging and remedial programs in the early years can be used as part of the recovery process, to support the millions of children who missed out on pre-primary learning due to #covid19 closures 4/4

The joint survey data also showed us that in low-middle income countries, pre-primary schools were usually closed for longer than primary and secondary but often excluded from national responses to #covid19 3/4
