One of the biggest problems in crypto—especially when global protocols hire in Korea—is talent evaluation. Too often, companies skip proper reference checks and end up hiring people based on self-promotion and polished appearances rather than real execution. Those same people then move on to even more senior roles without having delivered meaningful results. Having a prestigious degree and looking impressive on paper doesn’t make someone great. What ultimately matters is whether they can execute, continue learning, and create real value. I won’t name names. Whenever a protocol asks me for a reference, I take it seriously. If I think someone is great, I’ll say so. If I don’t, I’ll say that too. There are far more people I wouldn’t recommend than people I would. When I vouch for someone, I’m putting my own credibility on the line, so I only recommend people I genuinely believe will never damage that trust. I have enormous respect for people who: - are relentlessly curious and always trying to learn; - take on difficult challenges and find a way to deliver; - genuinely love this industry and the technology behind crypto; - and constantly strive to become better people, not just better professionals. @ditto_eth is one of those people. We’ve worked together both as colleagues and as partners, and I have no hesitation putting my reputation behind him.
