@dkrefft @PhantasmMovies Watched the third last week. Disappointing compared to I and II, but reminded me how great is the cinematography in the first two movies. And this synth theme is still mesmerizing.

@FreddyInSpace I absolutely agree. There were fantastic moments and some of the effects were authentic to the original and really brilliant, but the aimless side stories made it feel bloated and really drags the whole thing down. Dafoe got the most laughs from me, I think.

It's nice to see everyone back in character and there are moments where #BeetlejuiceBeetlejuice recaptures the magic, but it can't sustain it. An unfocused reunion party that's buried in side stories that go nowhere. One of those 'I hate that I didn't love this' movies for me.

@FreddyInSpace But I would also think the audience for an Alien film would have had no problems picking up on it if it were maybe less obvious, it should probably have been more subtle. Leave him in shadow more or make him more damaged so it's more of an implication. Regardless, loved the film!

@FreddyInSpace Maybe it should have been Pleasence in Halloween Kills route with a lookalike/makeup? But as far as the character (or this form of him) it makes complete sense and I liked it in theory. Hollywood trends aside, feels absolutely like something an Alien movie would and should have.

Spoiler free thoughts on the most controversial aspect of Alien: Romulus? It's the one thing about the movie that I didn't like. Even putting aside the ethical debate about this sort of thing, it stands out like a weird thumb in a movie that otherwise has convincing effects work.

@RuleTimeSpace Why would he want to make the same movie again? I hope @fedalvar gets to do whatever the hell he wants and I imagine what he wants probably doesn't include being trapped in the sci fi horror genre because he just made a fucking masterful #Alien movie
