Suffolk based heating engineering company. We clean systems, really well, it's our thing. When we're not doing that we're chilling with family and skating.

@infusion_andy @RichMWPHS @EsicontrolsLtd Been to a fair few over the last year. Heat link failures mainly which result in no heating or hot water and you can't override it manually. That, and the fact they send out BOXT to replace their stuff, means I will never fit another nest.

@RichMWPHS @EsicontrolsLtd Don’t know with this one, customer was sick to the back teeth with it so wanted new…..finding alarming number failing now that I fitted -many (tbf) replaced free of charge although the replacement process is a bit of a drag and lengthy phone calls to get to that point

@ATAG_Ian @LondonGAS2 @atag_matt Honest question, if Atag can sell new boilers with these bits installed, why aren't they available to installers and ultimately customers that have already spent a considerable amount of money on one?

@jenningshtg @worcester_bosch @RichMWPHS I was told by Ideal technical helpline last week that POCs blowing out of a heat engine and damage to adjacent surface is fine unless it affects FGA flue reading as their burner gaskets are porous. Cleared up by Head of Technical, but still, nobody should be getting that wrong

Just been told by @worcester_bosch that pump head and HEX resistance is not important for system design - well bugger me sideways... What have we been worrying about all these years @RichMWPHS ?

Took my daughter to work yesterday (15). I’m just wondering how many teenagers never try any practical work? And blindly follow into the university trap ? #apprenticeships #boilers #University

@HeatLogic_ @HeliosGas Just wanted to clarify as you said wind around the thread, sounded like 55 thats all. 55 thread id fully recommend, but I won't go near 577 again. If you get it you'll want the SF cleaner and activator for it too IMO,hassle.

I’ve just seen a video clip by a trainer/assessor using Loctite 577 instead of PTFE tape on the threads of radiator unions - anybody tried it? I might plumb a couple of old rads on a test rig and see what pressure I can get it up to!

@HeatLogic_ 577 is only WRAS approved up to 30 something degrees now I think. Plus I've experienced leaks using it on heating systems, a year down the line. I'm not the only one. I happily use Rocol Rapidseal now, much better

@ATAG_Ian @Installermag A logic weighs less than my toolbox. The day I cant lift a logic is the day I should've retired a decade ago.

@dlmgas @steveheating @IMIHydronicUK I use mine loads. Doesn’t fit Honeywell but fits a lot of others. I come across a lot of Caleffi cos that’s what my local sells and it fits those.

I have just been to a new build house ( very small), it’s got a 35kw combi in it, my guess is a heat loss of around 3kw, ( sorry @HeatCalculation I guessed 😂 ) min modulation is around 8kw on this boiler 😳😳😳absolutely shocking tbh.

I've now got the owner of the company round saying its fine even though there's visual evidence, and a reading with the FGA, that its leaking POCs from the combustion circuit into the air box. Leaking between combustion chamber and heat exchanger, high temp silicone failed.FFS LOL

@betateach Their installs are usually solid, I say this as a breakdown engineer that knew I was in for an easy job when going back to service these installs, daily. Efficiency won't become a thing for them until its mandated, they still don't test water quality on a "service" even. /end

It's a tough one this. THREAD I know a few engineers who think this but if your elderly relative's boiler broke then they come into their own & are exactly who you'd want to repair it...they are extremely familiar with the makes/models (there's many) out there. Conversly...1/n
