Of those 8 million, 6 million were final assembled in the US, a huge increase thanks to President Trump’s tariff policies! Over 1 MILLION middle class Americans have taken advantage of the auto interest deduction, which saves them about $1,000! Let’s compare that to the ridiculous $7,500 EV subsidy that Democrats adored. It went to about 250,000 VERY WEALTHY people that used a loophole to lease expensive, foreign made vehicles. Subsidizing electric Rolls-Royce’s and Lamborghinis for rich people is grotesque public policy! I’m proud to have led the USA CAR Act that gave relief to the 1.1 million working Americans who purchased American made automobiles. But, we can do more. I’m introducing legislation to expand this tax deduction to leases.
