Today, I joined my colleagues from Alabama and Ohio for a moment of silence on the House floor to honor the six KC-135 crew members who lost their lives in support of Operation Epic Fury on March 12, 2026. We also remember all 13 service members who made the ultimate sacrifice during this conflict. These brave men and women gave their lives in defense of our nation, and their sacrifice will never be forgotten. We are keeping their families, friends, and loved ones in our prayers during this difficult time.

This morning, I joined Axios to discuss the future of autonomous vehicles and the importance of keeping Americans safe on our roads. Safety is my top priority when it comes to AV legislation. My bill, the SELF DRIVE Act, puts safety first. It requires manufacturers to develop a robust safety case, establishes a national AV safety data repository to collect more information on serious safety incidents, and creates a single federal framework to ensure consistent regulation across the United States. Today I met with Jonathan Morrison, Administrator of the @NHTSAgov, to discuss how we can work together to make our roads safer for Americans. I appreciated the opportunity to hear his perspective and discuss ways to strengthen roadway safety. Keeping drivers, passengers, and pedestrians safe must always remain a top priority.

I had a great discussion with Ho Nieh, Chairman of the @NRCgov. As Chairman of the Energy Subcommittee on @HouseCommerce, I’m committed to working with the NRC to ensure our domestic nuclear industry is robust.

Marcia and I are praying for @SusieWiles as she battles an early stage breast cancer diagnosis. We are keeping her and her family in our thoughts during this time.

Marcia and I are deeply saddened to learn that six Air National Guard service members, three of whom were from Ohio and serving with the Ohio Air National Guard’s 121st Air Refueling Wing, were killed during an air refueling mission in Iraq. Our hearts are with their families, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. We are keeping them in our prayers and honoring the service and sacrifice of these brave service members, whose dedication to our country will never be forgotten.

I look forward to chairing this Energy Subcommittee hearing next week to examine how our energy systems performed during Winter Storm Fern, how they delivered reliable power to Americans in Ohio and across the East Coast, and how we can strengthen our energy production to better prepare for future storms.

#OTD in 1862, the Battle of Hampton Roads marked a pivotal naval clash during the American Civil War. The two-day battle was part of the Confederacy’s effort to break the Union naval blockade. It also made history as the first combat between ironclad warships: the USS Monitor and the CSS Virginia. On Tuesday, Chairman @BobLatta led an Energy Subcommittee hearing on the reauthorization of PHMSA’s pipeline safety program. Millions of Americans rely on natural gas every day to heat their homes and cook their food. Ensuring that our pipeline infrastructure is safe and up-to-date is essential to getting it to them.
