Today it's 40 years of Internet in Italy. Back then I was playing with the observatory BBS in Ravenna, the only way I had to connect my computer with something else on a dial-up phone line.

I think we should talk. We have put together a project running on our @mintlayer blockchain, for Real World Identity. Linking pet owners, to their pets in a traceable manner, to facilitate law enforcement on pet abandonment. At the same time, our project allows the unification of pets health records, facilitating transfers from one clinic to the other, cross country and cross border. Minimizing quarantine requirements and etc We are happy to share more and have already shared with the relevant UAE authorities, as we are happy to provide this on complimentary basis on a national level integration
Joe@JoeBGrech

during the war i got active on X again. that's how i met @claireindubai, who works incredibly hard to re-home pets in the UAE. she's always asking her audience for help where they can. last week she asked if anyone could build her an app. i stepped in as 'web administrator' to help make it happen. the result: rescueme.ae, a platform for neglected and abandoned pets in the UAE to find loving homes. it's now a joint effort with 5+ groups across the UAE all working toward the same thing. we're in v1 but if you live in the UAE, please share. if you know anyone looking to adopt a dog, cat, or rabbit, send them to rescueme.ae and support @claireindubai and her team. Today is World Homeopathy Day. In its honor, let’s remember that time The Amazing James Randi overdosed on homeopathy and lived to tell about it.

They STABBED a hole through a rat’s cornea with a surgical blade. Then dropped BPC-157 dissolved in water into its eye. 72 hours. Hole closed. Cornea clear. PMID 25912999. They crushed a rat’s spinal cord. One injection of BPC-157 ten minutes later. Motor function came back. Spasticity resolved by day 15. The effect held for a full year — from a single dose of a peptide with a half-life under 30 minutes. PMID 31266512. They gave rats enough ibuprofen to cause brain swelling, liver damage, and stomach lesions. BPC-157 in drinking water reversed all three. PMID 21295044. They severed a rat’s Achilles tendon. BPC-157 accelerated healing by upregulating growth hormone receptor expression in the tendon fibroblasts themselves. PMID 14554208. Every one of these is a different tissue. Eye. Spine. Gut. Liver. Brain. Tendon. Same peptide. Same dose range. Different response depending on what was broken. In the cornea — where new blood vessels cause blindness — it healed the wound while SUPPRESSING vessel growth. In the tendon — where blood supply is the bottleneck — it promoted it. It doesn’t have one mode. It reads the tissue and responds. BPC-157 is a pentadecapeptide isolated from human gastric juice. It’s native to your body. Stable at stomach pH. No lethal dose has been achieved in any study. All preclinical. Rat models. No human trial. That’s the indictment.

And the "protect people from themselves" argument? Alcohol kills 3 million people per year. Tobacco 8 million. Both legal, both heavily marketed. BPC-157 is non-addictive, no withdrawal, no receptor hijacking. Preclinical toxicology is clean. We permit documented mass scale harm but block compounds with unknown but preclinically safe profiles. That's not risk management. That's incoherence.

The solution isn't banning the whole thing. Just regulate manufacturing quality. Require pharmaceutical grade purity and sterility. That addresses the actual stated safety concern without pretending we know the efficacy answer when we don't.

BPC-157 has 30+ years of animal research showing tissue repair, anti-inflammation, neuroprotection. Human trials: basically zero. Why? No patent means no ROI for pharma to fund $100M+ trials. So nobody does it.

The surprise of this war to me has been the UAE I had perceived them as “soft”, but those guys are as hard as diamonds they retail in their malls Not just their military, but the resilience of their economy in operating under extreme heavy fire Iran has fired more missiles at the UAE than Israel. The UAE is the most heavily targeted country in the conflict, yet the Dubai International Airport is still open, and oil is still being exported. The UAE raised oil exports through the Fujairah port to 1.9 million barrels per day (a 57% increase). The magic word is resilience, but you can't have resilience without redundancies That's a lesson for all policymakers

Milk Road AI
Milk Road AI@MilkRoadAI·
Google just published research that could change the economics of AI forever. The algorithm is called TurboQuant. Every AI system runs on a hidden piece of working memory called a KV cache and it stores everything the model needs mid conversation. That cache is why AI costs a fortune to run and the entire chip industry bet its future on this problem never being solved. Micron is sold out of HBM memory through the end of 2026 and SK Hynix locked in Nvidia supply years in advance. But guess what? Google’s algorithm cuts that memory by at least 6x and delivers up to 8x faster speed with zero accuracy loss. Every compression method before this one made a trade, shrink memory, lose quality. Engineers accepted that deal because there was no other option and TurboQuant eliminates that trade entirely. It compresses AI memory down to 3 bits per value, the industry standard is 32 bits. Google tested it across three major AI models and five benchmarks, it matched or beat everything. This is already running inside Gemini and the memory industry was forecasting 70% year-over-year HBM demand growth for 2026. Near term the memory stocks are fine, contracts are signed, revenue locked in nothing blows up this quarter. However, Google just proved the most expensive hardware bottleneck in AI can be dissolved with software. The companies charging fortunes to supply memory for a problem that no longer has to exist at that scale, that story is coming. The most dangerous disruptions never replace your hardware, they just make it matter less.
