If Marxists believed their own rhetoric, they would either start a business to create wealth for the poor, or start a commune to share their property with each other. They do neither. Their rhetoric is a cover for envy and resentment.

I find it frustrating that none of these "guardians" of Linux and open source have reacted to the OS-level age verification law: - Linux Foundation - Open Source Initiative - Free Software Foundation - Software Freedom Conservancy

The heartbeat of a new era. The new BMW i3. #BMWi3 #BMW #BMWNewEra #NeueKlasse #BMWGroup The maximum range of the BMW i3 50 xDrive Limousine (2026) will be up to 900 kilometers (WLTP). Since no binding WLTP values are currently available, these are preliminary values. Furthermore, the real life values depend on various factors, e.g. cargo weight, driving style, route, weather conditions, auxiliary electrical consumption (including air conditioning), tires, battery state of health.

There's worry that people will stop using their brains with LLMs, but managing several AI agent threads in parallel has been some of the most cognitively intensive work I've done in years

Billionaires create... poverty. On average each billionaire causes 400,000 to live in poverty, due to low wages and extortionate prices. That's almost all of the people living in poverty on the planet.

people misunderstand the icarus story. the problem was not that he flew too high. it's that the wings were made of beeswax, which offered very little resistance to heating. with modern materials he would have had no problems. we can fly as close to the sun as we want now

Boston City Hall opened to the public 57 years ago. The building is one of the most famous examples of Brutalist architecture, a style known for its raw concrete, bold shapes, and focus on structure over decoration.

If Europe had expanded nuclear energy rather than stupidly phasing it out (looking at you, Germany), it could have closed down all coal plants by now, slashed gas imports, and cut emissions by an additional ~21%. Why didn't it do so? Ideology, that's why. Anti-nuclear greens have caused MORE harm to the climate than climate denialists. Analysis by @RogerPielkeJr. rogerpielkejr.substack.com/p/how-europe-u…

I completely disagree based on personal experience. It has made me 3-4x more productive. But I’m prompting it, double checking its work, adjusting, re-checking and only then deploying. People want to type words in a magic box and get perfect code without any work. Not possible today.

im fully convinced that LLMs are not an actual net productivity boost (today) they remove the barrier to get started, but they create increasingly complex software which does not appear to be maintainable so far, in my situations, they appear to slow down long term velocity

@thsottiaux Let us select 2 or more directories when loading a project. For example, if I have a backend and a frontend directory, I want to load each of them separately, but also together in another project where codex has to work across the two on one task.

Had a friend tell me once: "When you're feeling overwhelmed, there are only two things you should do... get organized and get to work. The rest is just noise. Peace is found in progress." Some of the best advice I've ever received.
