1 of 2) It’s been a hard several weeks. Three days before my friend and colleague Bob Holt’s collapse after the Missouri game, I found out I had a tumor and cancer in my throat. I took my first day of seven weeks of radiation and chemotherapy treatment today.

For example, after Arkansas beat Kansas State in the Cotton Bowl, he goes up to Bill Snyder and asks something like "so what did you think about Joe Adams' big punt return?" lololol He wasn't being a dick. Just needed a quote for his story.

Bob didn't care about that stuff. He did his job. It was kind of awesome to watch. My favorite was when coaches would come to BWA, get beat, and then have to face Bob at the presser. They'd clearly be down and not wanting to talk much, but Bob would hound them until they would.

Bob Holt was the best. When I was first given media credentials as an SB Nation site manager, I wondered if the more established, traditional beat reporters would think I deserved to be in there with them, but Bob was always very warm and welcoming.
