@RCEM_VP @RCollEM The pressure applied to ED staff to temporarily [sic] increase capacity in inappropriate areas - ‘holding’, ‘sub-waiting’, ‘transfer’, ‘DTA’… still corridors… is horrible. System failure is not solved in the ED. Dreadful patient (and staff) experience.

Called out NHSE’s narrative that it’s possible to provide safe care in corridors. Used strong language putting our statement together, reflecting @RCollEM members’ and colleagues’ strength of feeling on this matter. Degree to which corridor care is normalised is dumbfounding

@goldstone_tony So I won’t get RPSS until I’ve had been sent a ‘choice’ exercise… dates for sending that are ‘under review’. I anticipate a (to me!) significant difference in lump sum as a result of the choice, as well as likely compensation for overpaid PS tax. But heaven knows when. 🤬

#RPSS UPDATE: from NHSBSA. Now saying 90% of those affected by error by 16th Dec 24 (previously they said 3rd Dec) - For 10% members still waiting for a corrected RPSS BSA will write to them by same date with an update, aim by End Feb '25 (deadline 3/12 after RPSS) - Update does not state when those who havent received their first RPSS will receive them nhsbsa.nhs.uk/public-service…

(6) in my view it’s past time @DHSCgovuk @HMRCgovuk to put out urgent guidance that due to the administration failures of @nhs_pensions (and to be fair other pensions agencies affecting doctors) that deadlines need to be formally relaxed around RPSS and SA for 23/24 RT if agree

@trentconsultant It has been run on goodwill for so long that trusts/health boards have developed a sense of entitlement over their staff’s non-contracted, *own* time 🤷🏻‍♀️.

LNC chairs being called in to be told of 'just how serious our financial position is' up and down the country. Sounding pretty system wide. Message to trusts; "if you haven't got the money then you can't have the work". It's a *national* health service, not run on staff subsidy.

@goldstone_tony From that chart, if I’ve overpaid pension savings tax (from what I understand, it’s likely the case) there’s a suggestion it won’t get sorted until 2031??? Surely that can’t be right - by then would be wrong pension & wrong lump sum for *8* years?!?

And 2027 is at the earliest as per chart

It’s a poor answer from @nhs_pensions in my view. They could have for example reassured you as you retired before Oct 2023 you don’t have to complete this process until 2027 👇
