@lightssswitch Ah that’s very kind. I don’t go on twitter much these days, but this was a nice thing to see! Adam is a lovely man and I had fun ramblechatting to him.

"MSF has a responsibility to act with moral clarity and humanitarian consistency in the face of mass atrocities. The same should apply to the UK government." Our op-ed on Gaza by @docnat, in the Guardian today: theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

@docnat Over 61k killed, hospitals bombed, daily massacres & no "safe" zones! Genocide is taking place since 1year, 7months, 1week, 5days & still continuing. Yet none of the Western "free Media" & "so-called" Humanitarian INGOs like yours called this a Genocide? WHY???

Gaza has become a mass grave for Palestinians. Starvation and collective punishment are being used as weapons of war. #StopNOW #Gaza

@AnnelieseDodds Thank you for standing up for your principles, and for highlighting what a dreadful decision it was to cut ODA - which, as you say, will deprive some of the world’s most vulnerable people from access to food, medical care, and protection.

It is with sadness that I have had to tender my resignation as Minister for International Development and for Women and Equalities. While I disagree with the ODA decision, I continue to support the government and its determination to deliver the change our country needs.

I just spent 17 days in Damascus, from January 14 to January 30. I had never imagined I would learn this much in such a short period of time. I know it’s a cliché, but in this (long) thread 1️⃣🧵, I want to reflect on these two weeks that—perhaps selfishly—brought me so much. I hope that one day, I’ll be able to give back to Syria for all it has given me.

Once ‘tax’ is paid by farmers, #ISWAP typically issues receipts. However, these receipts cannot be taken home. The terrorists strictly prohibit this. Instead, the receipts are left on the farm or kept with the payer. humanglemedia.com/iswaps-tax-sys…

The bravery of journalists based in Gaza, trying to report in the most appalling conditions, continues to astound. Many have paid with their lives.

We're nearly at the first full calendar year-end of the Gaza war. The normalisation of both (i) the enormous bloodshed (ii) and journalists still not being allowed in by the Israeli govt to report as to what's happening have been some of the grimmer features of the year.
Leila Molana-Allen@Leila_MA

#Israel’s authorities haven’t let journalists into Gaza for <1 year to report freely on one of the bloodiest conflicts of this century. That’s unacceptable.” Talking ceasefire chances in #Gaza & hopes for a free #Syria as Assad’s victims seek justice, on @LBC w/ @lewis_goodall.

And yes, there are complex times to come for Syria. But let’s just take a moment to be happy that a brutal regime that killed vast numbers of its own people has fallen.

I took this in 2012 at the border crossing into Aleppo. They told me it would be all over by the end of the year. Thinking of my Syrian friends today: those that fled, those that stayed & survived the vicious onslaught, and those that were killed. I wish Syria a bright future.
