Trump claims he’s going to stop Iranian ships,but nearly all of them are headed straight to China. So let’s drop the pretense: this isn’t about Iran, it’s about trying to choke China’s energy supply. He declares, “We’ll stop every ship paying Iran,” and people cheer like it’s some bold move. Meanwhile, 80–90% of Iran’s oil goes to China. In reality, he’s targeting Chinese trade and pretending it’s about Iran. Then look at the contradiction: first he threatens a full naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, then turns around and tells China to buy American oil instead. It’s not strategy,it’s transparent coercion. China already buys Iranian oil in yuan, outside the dollar system and beyond US control. Switch to US oil, and suddenly they’re back under Washington’s financial grip,dollars, SWIFT, sanctions risk, frozen assets. That’s the real play here: not selling oil, but forcing dependence. And China isn’t naive,they see it for exactly what it is. When people talk about "global warming," or "the warming climate," or "a warming world," or just "warming" — they are all referring, whether they know it or not, to a change in one NUMBER: "Global Mean Surface Temperature" (GMST). And almost none of them know that. ❓ Ask them what's actually warming. You'll get a blank stare. They've never seen the definition. They couldn't tell you who computes it, how, or from what. They just repeat the phrase — in op-eds, in classrooms, in UN speeches, in coffee shops, in their kids' textbooks — as if everyone obviously knows what it means. Nobody does. Because here's the thing: there IS no single standard definition of GMST. Not in the IPCC reports. Not at NOAA. Not in the peer-reviewed literature. Every dataset cooks it differently. 🛰️ How differently? The CMIP climate models generate full global grids of temperature EVERYWHERE on Earth and average those. NASA's GISTEMP uses sparse, irregular surface station data and then extrapolates, assumes, and in many regions simply invents values for the vast swaths of the planet where no thermometers exist — reaching up to 1,200 km from a single station to fill empty grid boxes across oceans, ice sheets, and deserts. These are not two approximations of the same thing. They are two completely different mathematical operations on two completely different datasets — and the field pretends one is an "approximation" of the other. ⚠️ That pretense only works if the THING being approximated actually exists. It doesn't. You cannot approximate something that has no referent. You cannot have "better" or "worse" estimates of nothing. And even setting that aside: you cannot average the temperature of a boiling desert, a frozen pole, a humid jungle, and the stratosphere and call the result a "temperature." 🚫 REALITY forbids it. And it is not an "index" either — a scientific index has to index SOMETHING REAL. GMST indexes nothing. There is no underlying physical quantity it tracks, approximates, or stands in for. 🧨 Physically meaningless. A fiction. No such quantity exists in nature. Nada. Rien. Zilch. Bupkis. So when people argue about whether "the globe" has warmed by 1.1°C or 1.5°C — in op-eds, in policy papers, in trillion-dollar net-zero mandates — they are LITERALLY arguing about nothing at all.
