@ColinLa709 Talked about on the news programs last week and started in use on Monday. Seems some weather people, CBC Ashley, aren't used to them yet - she's showing yellow areas in Orange and Orange ones in Blue.

Does anyone know when we switched to the European weather forecast style "Yellow warning ⚠️" system?

@Stephencheatley I think this is comet A6 Lemmon not 3I/Atlas. Good capture.

Here's a better shot of Comet Atlas which I shot from Cleveleys Promenade near Blackpool at 8pm on Saturday night. It could be seen with the naked eye! #comet

Comet C/2025 A6 Lemmon on it's closest approach to Earth tonight, from St. John's NL.

@ToddGBaker Thanks, ignored the fog in the West End of city and went to Kenmount Rd where it was clear. The comet is now visible in 10x binoculars, perhaps visually in a dark place. The tail is now quite long.

The snow squalls on the Avalon are starting to become more west-to-east-oriented. This will result in significant localized accumulations. The heaviest band right now is from Placentia to Petty Harbour... and likely goes across Placentia Bay to the Burin Peninsula. #nlwx

Today we remember four Canadian soldiers who were killed in Afghanistan on August 3, 2006. They were Private Kevin Dallaire, Corporal Bryce Keller, Sergeant Vaughan Ingram and Corporal Christopher Reid. Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. #CanadaRemembers

Totality in Codroy #Newfoundland was very dramatic. Thick mid-level clouds appeared at the start of the partial phase, completely hiding the sun. But 5 minutes before totality, the sky opened up. A magical experience on a gorgeous beach with great people! #nlwx #Eclipse2024
