The “OMG they used two picks to get a kicker” has even less punch when you look at it as they used the 3rd last pick in the draft to ensure they get the guy they wanted, and signed the WR they likely would have drafted there anyways as an UDFA.

There were 257 picks in the draft. The #Packers used the 255th pick to turn their 7th into a 6th. Then they used that to get the guy they wanted, who they most likely would not have been able to get if they stayed put. And they got a head start on UDFAs. Well done.
