Bubblesort is famously, or infamously, the "never use this" algorithm. Donald Knuth even said it has "nothing to recommend it, except a catchy name." But there is actually a niche where it does well - game development (source linked). What makes bubblesort interesting - each step is fast and easily suspendable, and every swap leaves the array more ordered than before. Other sorts can temporarily move values away from their final positions. This matters when we render objects in a game. We want to render objects closest to the camera first (so we can skip rendering hidden objects), but we also cannot spend too much time sorting because we have strict real-time constraints. With bubblesort, we run a little bit each frame. The array gets progressively more ordered without ever blocking our game loop. It does not need to be perfectly sorted - just "better than before" is good enough. This also comes in handy while animating particles sorting into a rainbow (refer to the source for details). Each bubble sort pass becomes a single animation frame, and particles smoothly drift into place. Pretty interesting. We probably never need it, but it is always a nice reminder that "universal" rules always have their exceptions. If you are interested in digging deeper, I have linked the source article below. A YouTuber named @Theo is demanding that the @FFmpeg project (the open source video encoding tool used across the computer world) kick out a contributor (the person running their X account) — and has offered a $20,000 bounty to FFmpeg if they give in to @Theo’s demands. Theo, who appears to have a personal vendetta against the person behind the @FFmpeg account, has released a YouTube video where Theo repeatedly screams that the FFmpeg account administrator is a “motherf***er”. In response, a small number of FFmpeg contributors are proposing a “vote” on whether or not to remove X account access from that contributor (and collect the $20k bounty). Other FFmpeg contributors are pointing out that @Theo’s actions are those of a bully (manipulating a project and attacking individuals with large bounties, screaming profanities and name calling).

Just to add my 2 cents. I think and in my opinion Kramnik's response to Daniel's passing was cold and heartless. I didn't want to say anything in the beginning because it is not my place and Vlad has always been great towards me but things have gotten too far. In my personal view what was done and happened to Naroditsky was just shockingly and disturbingly evil and horrific. You wouldn't wish that to happen to your worst enemy. Let's say for a moment that Danya cheated (which I never believed). Would it be worth it to ruin a beautiful young life over a game? What was his soul worth? @VBkramnik , are you done? Maybe its not too late to just stop and fix/make things better. You are a living legend to this game. The chess world is not your enemy.
