@DoBetter_ I think with liberal men being counted for what they are the male population has already been greatly reduced.

@dominionpowers Sure, if you're envisioning a scenario where the male population is greatly reduced, maybe some women might be more open to polygamy. But you do know that most evidence points to there not being a shortage of men during LDS polygamy?

@dominionpowers That seems like wishful thinking. Birthrates aren't declining simply because women can't find a man to procreate with. If anything, I'd assume women are more of the driver of declining rates than men. And they want babies they'd be more likely to do it alone than in polygamy.

@DoBetter_ With the current state of marriage and childbirth the day will come when 7 women will latch onto 1 man and beg the church to reinstate polygamy so they can have children and fulfill the measure of thier creation.

@dominionpowers Note that I said most members defend historical polygamy. When I said "in their hearts knows its a bad idea now", I was meaning if the practice was reinstated now. That said, some members do think historical polygamy was wrong and not really from God.

I asked a girl coworker out to homecoming my junior year of high school. She attended a different school and I didn’t know her all that well. She was cute and nice, or so I thought. On the way to the dance, religion came up and I said I was Mormon (this was in the 90s). She called me an antichrist and refused to talk to me ever again. I got to the dance, dropped her off, and I left. I have no idea how she got home. Turns out her father was an evangelical pastor and frequently preached about Mormons being demonic. Tough lesson to learn for a teenager experiencing bigotry for the first time.
Latter-day Truth@Latterdaytruth

When I lived in a small town in Tennessee, during middle school, a group of kids came up and actually felt my head for horns… When I asked them why on earth they thought I had horns, they said their pastor told them. Later, we found out that as soon as people in town knew a new “Mormon family” moved in, the pastors poisoned the well.

These two paragraphs of my verdict are crucial for everyone to read and understand. "Even if all of the statements made by Van Langenhove are based on scientific evidence and statistics, it makes no difference to the criminal intent. Van Langenhove is not charged with spreading false information. He is charged with presenting facts in a way that incites hatred against persons on the grounds of one or more of the protected criteria in the Anti-Racism Law.” 1⃣ "For Van Langenhove to have committed a crime, it is not necessary for him to have incited concrete acts of hate or violence. It suffices that others are incited to take on a general attitude of intolerance or disapproval regarding a group protected under the criteria of the Anti-Racism Law." 2⃣ This means you can go to jail for "inciting hatred" even if your statements were 100% factual (see 1⃣) and even if you did NOT incite concrete acts of hate (see 2⃣). The benchmark of "inciting hatred" , a crime punishable by prison, is thus "saying something that has the potential of inciting someone to have a general attitude of disapproval regarding a protected group". This means literally any criticism of mass migration is now a punishable offence. If you cite a statistic, and someone could potentially think less of a protected group (like migrants) because of it, you can be jailed. The craziest part is that there is no defence possible against this. I brought the scientific studies that I cited to court, but the judge didn't care 1⃣. I also proved that the hundreds of students present at the lecture included students of all different political affiliations, and everyone was able to voice their opinion or ask questions. The lecture went very calmly, so obviously nobody was incited to hatred. But this too did not matter 2⃣, because if the judge says he believes there is the possibility that someone COULD be incited to "a general attitude of disapproval", this is enough for the judge to send me to jail, even without any evidence. I'm telling you this to warn you that by the time these hate speech laws have come into place, it's already too late. You will NEVER be able to beat these laws in court. You have to stop them before they are implemented. Let my fate be your warning.

If Mormons are Christians, then why hasn't the Mormon Church made an official statement against the persecution and SLAUGHTER of Christians in Nigeria?

If God and Jesus are fundamentally creators at their core. In fact, the creators. And we receive an inheritance and become joint heirs it stands to reason that he would put us to work creating something. At least a little maintenance work on his creations? What do you think we’re doing in heaven? Basking in the radiance? Strumming a harp?

@dominionpowers @Faustzme If you think you've found a "Jesus" that believes you can be "valiant" and subsequently "exalted" so that you can earn the authority to create and manage planets, you have not found Christ. You have been deceived by Satan.

And I think that’s fundamentally the difference between latter-day Saints and evangelicals. when Jesus tells me the story of the good Samaritan and then commands that I go and do likewise I understand that the Samaritan, despite generational heresies associated with his understanding of God is fundamentally, good and worthy of emulation and most likely will be received into the kingdom. Theologically you have to look at that story and say yes, the Samaritan was the better of the three. But the priest and the Levite are saved because of their theological understanding while the Samaritan will go to hell. him and all his family burning in a lake of fire in brimstone because he was raised with incorrect doctrine. It’s an interesting hill to die on. I would air on the side of mercy because my understanding of Jesus and God is that they are merciful and just. We will be fairly judged according to our faith in our works. Your system seems like a very unfair judgment. But again you do you.

Every time I read Mormon sources I discover more little nuggets of ridiculousness. So according to the Mormon book Moses in chapter 4 verse 5 it shows that the serpent that deceived Eve wasn't actually Satan it was a creature that Satan controlled. Apparently Satan belongs to house Slytherin.

@dominionpowers @Faustzme I'm not remotely "worried" that Joe Smith is "gods messenger." I'm also not worried that Smitty is God's messenger. He wasn't either. Joey was a false prophet. The LDS is a satanic cult.

@dominionpowers @Faustzme Jesus is God, little lady. Your false prophet first convinced people that Christ's Gospel needed "restoration" and then used the opportunity to deceive you. You actually believe that a polygamist pedophile was God's messenger. That's more than sad. It's Satanic.

If mocking God means laughing at the idea of an unknowable three in one essence God who for no apparent reason decided to create the universe and everything in it. Made man after his own image but not really because he’s an omnipresent, disembodied essence God. Decided to sacrifice his son essence and then the son essence resurrected and requires only faith in his son essence to be saved. Another disembodied spirit essence sticks around. Leaves a book with no further instruction. Yeah. I’m probably mocking that understanding of deity.
