If no one else wants to say it, I will: Stop calling it a TSA crisis. It’s not broken. It’s being broken on purpose. Project 2025, page 159. This is how control gets sold to the public. You better vote.

It took 4 days for the César Chávez abuse allegations to spark a nationwide purge: statues torn down, streets, parks and schools renamed, holidays canceled, and politicians now running for cover. Meanwhile, Epstein’s abuse has been public since 2019. Still. No. Client. Arrests.

Here’s the deal with social media: If you know someone currently deployed: no you don’t If your friend’s dad told you something about their kid: no he didn’t. If your friend contacted you just to chat: nope. Didn’t happen. Everyone on social media wants to have more information than everyone else so they can get engagement. Don’t get people killed for likes.

.@JamesTalarico: What would Jesus do about a tax system that benefits the rich over the poor? What would Jesus do about an education system that ties a child's school funding to their community's property wealth? What would Jesus do about a justice system that incarcerates more people than any other country on the face of the earth? Would he stay in his room and pray? Or would he walk into the seat of power and flip over the tables of injustice? We Christians are called to do more than charity. We are called to challenge the systems that make charity necessary.

Maher: So being Christian is an important part of being truly American? Boebert: Absolutely @JamesTalarico: As a Christian, I was taught that we're supposed to follow Jesus' two commandments — love God and love neighbor. There was no exception to that second commandment. Love thy neighbor regardless of race or gender or sexual orientation or immigration status or religious affiliation. In Texas, I'm constantly battling Christian nationalism — a bill that forces every public school teacher to put up a poster of the 10 Commandments, a bill that replaces school counselors with untrained chaplains, a bill that would have taught Christian Bible stories as historical fact to our youngest students. And I always speak up on behalf of my Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Sikh, agnostic, and atheist neighbors. Because we as Christians are called to love them as ourselves, and forcing my religion down their throats is not love.

This is the interview Donald Trump didn’t want you to see. His FCC refused to air my interview with Stephen Colbert. Trump is worried we’re about to flip Texas.

.@JamesTalarico on the Trump administration blocking the airing of his Colbert interview: “This is the party that ran against cancel culture, and now they are trying to control what we watch, what we say, and what we read. This is the most dangerous kind of cancel culture — the kind that comes from the top. Corporate media executives are selling out the First Amendment to curry favor with corrupt politicians. A threat to any of our First Amendment rights is a threat to all of our First Amendment rights.”

We had some of the most heated political debates I can remember around this table. I can remember several disagreements over President Obama, and his policies. We remembered oaths, and followed the chain of command despite any personal opinion. That kid has a right to speak.

YOU chose to wear our flag. YOU chose to represent our country. YOU chose to compete at the @Olympics. If that’s too hard for you, then GO HOME. Some things are bigger than politics. You just don’t get it.

kind of funny that an olympian said they are here to represent "compassion, respect, love for others" and some people automatically know that's a statement against them

The funny thing here is, if we take you at your word, you’re basing all of your constant commentary on this situation on an objectively wrong understanding of what happened that could be corrected by watching the video all of the rest of us watched. I think it’s more likely that you’re just lying, but either way it’s astounding.

These people are incapable of not lying about this. "Side window"? You can see the photos of the car with bullet holes. The shots came from the front of the car because that's where the officer was standing when he was hit by the car. He is allowed to discharge his weapon in self defense.
Ryan Grim@ryangrim

Ok this is genuinely psychotic. Innocent? He shot an unarmed woman twice through a side window and then called her a “fuckin’ bitch,” let her bleed out, and fled the scene.
