@CityofBulawayo I'm bringing this to your attention there's a water leak outside 14 Baden Powell in Northend, not sure if it was reported, it has been leaking for a while now find attached photos.

English

@samkebusiness What can you say it's not too late to do the right thing come on, same as Tshabangu you said he was fighting for Ndebele people.
English

I, Samkeliso Tshuma stand with Mbuso Fuzwayo and lbhetshu LikaZulu. My support for him and the organisation isn't based on the fact that we are Ndebele. Nope. It is based on what l know to be true. I am privy to information that l haven't bothered to share here because this space isn't for the truth but only for narratives that get the majority excited including your enemies. Fuzwayo is innocent and l stand by it. I can't even say that the truth shall be revealed one day. Not in the Zimbabwe political space. This space loves liars and they get rewarded for their lies.
Be strong Fuzwayo, there are two women who stand with you privately and publicly unapologetically because we know you. We will not let you bear the insults alone and worse from pple who defended ED during the coup, support Chiwenga etc. The moral superiority is nauseating. You have done none of that. You have been solid in your position against the oppressive Zanu PF regime. I support you Mbuso Fuzwayo.
If you insult me here or in your WhatsApp groups, love and light to you😘

Sat, 21 Mar 1987 . My first week at Rio Tinto’s Brompton Mine in Kadoma. After completing my apprenticeship at Circle Cement Ltd Harare in 1986, I worked there for a year as a qualified electrician.
In 1987 I applied for a Resident Electrician role at mining giant Rio Tinto’s Brompton Mine, located 28 kilometres south of the mining and farming town of Kadoma, and landed the job.
Having come from the then bustling city of Harare, with all the nightlife I enjoyed there, the change in life and lifestyle was palpable. Life on the mine was very different ,quiet, laid back, and at times eerily still.
The mine provided housing ,prefabricated housing 🤦🏽♂️ ,free electricity and water, and daily transport for school kids to Eiffel Flats Primary School 30 kilometres away.
Those benefits were the major attraction for me as I had two children and wanted to “settle down” a bit, away from the temptations Harare provided.
Rentals were becoming expensive, and when Mr Fallon raised the rent from $150 to $230 at my 2-bed apartment at 7 Vivan Delphi Court, 7 McChlery Road Eastlea, I made up my mind to get outta town. The free housing sealed the deal.
The company had two separate housing estates, and my pay grade allowed me to live in the senior management “suburb.” The majority of the workforce lived on the “other side” on a sprawling estate. My house overlooked the Claw Dam ,a beautiful view from the veranda. My neighbour was legendary footballer Gibson “Geza Muchina” Sibanda, who years earlier had dominated football news with his dribbling skills while playing for Rio Tinto FC.
Rio Tinto was a proper investor; they developed real infrastructure to provide decent accommodation.
I quickly adjusted to life, partially thanks to my interpersonal skills. The job itself was demanding ,maintaining underground equipment like Sulzer pumps and switchgear, sometimes knee-deep in water. Fault diagnosis underground was always tricky, messing about with live equipment surrounded by water was never safe. We also carried out surface work, maintaining crushers, conveyor belts, and running LV and HV power lines.
We worked half days on Saturdays which was pretty crap. Social life was what one made of it. Weekends I’d go to the nearby Doreen’s Pride Estate, a massive game ranch and farm managed by ARDA, to braai some nyama, including game meat. That’s where I first tasted ngongoni ,wildebeest ,surprisingly tasty. Wild hog was the best though, tender and always succulent.
I made a few friends there, and before long I was hanging around with management 😂😂😂 I’d do private electrical jobs and get paid with a fully dressed kudu. My deep freeze would be packed to the brim with meat. Not to mention the bottlenose fish sold to me by the sackful by fishmongers who, as I later learnt, were actually poachers who illegally netted the fish at night and sold them to unsuspecting buyers like me.
I only got to know that Swerakuenda and crew were fish poachers when I befriended the Officer In Charge @PoliceZimbabwe Kadoma Central, Denmore Nechishanye. One day he visited me, and I offered him a sack of bottlenose fish. He stood akimbo, hands on hips, and said, “These are definitely fish poached from the Claw Dam.” I nearly froze. I told him I didn’t know. He looked at me for a bit, then, being the cool guy he was, changed the subject.
Two weeks later, several poachers were arrested. I had nothing to do with their arrest ,I didn’t snitch.
I also befriended one of the few black farmers in the area, Mnkanhaire, a rancher. Mnkanhaire was a shrewd businessman, very serious guy with a zero sense of humour.
One day his workers were shocked when I actually made him laugh after telling him a good story 😂😂😂 We became good friends. I’d do a few electrical repairs for him and get paid in meat. Sometimes, I’d team up with fellow mine workers like Aaron Chigumira to pool money and buy a whole beast from him, slaughter, share, and stock our freezers…
English

@KingJayZim Was the Jecha now Jecha back then, what about fishing at Claw dam?
What was happening at the Grand Hotel and Specks Hotel any memories King?
On your way to Brompton did you pass through Kadoma Bakery buying those big Pies?
Tell us more KD kumusha kwedu uko....lol
English

2/2 . Some weekends I’d drive to “Town”, Kadoma, and jollify at The Kadoma Ranch Motel where I met manager Oliver Tazarurwa ,one of the pioneering black hotel managers in independent Zimbabwe together with Topsy and Tamsqanga Msimanga. Of course, I made friends with the resident DJs ,Addington Mukondorongwe (Eddie Tuff), Moses “Black Moses” Nyariri and Percy “Baby Face” Chigodo. I’d bring my LPs and spin a set which always went down a storm with partygoers.
What will surprise most people is that Blessing Geza was a big fan of my sets. Every time I played at The Ranch, Geza would be there, buying the drinks all night. He loved George Benson, Lou Rawls and a stack of other oldies 😎
But I hated my job. I hated the underground work, the damp tunnels, the hum of machinery echoing off rock walls. Didn’t like the mine gossip either ,mine life is something else. Everyone knew your business before you knew it yourself 😂😂 As for the adulterous affairs? Ha! Hehehehehehe ,unbelievable.
So I left Brompton Mine after just 11 months and headed back to Harare, briefly joining Metal Box, manufacturers of tin packaging. The red earth of Kadoma still clung to my shoes as I packed up, the faint hum of the mine siren fading behind me… to be continued next Saturday under the theme Life after Circle Cement,a journey through my working life into the nineties to the present day.

4 years ago, this young man had no hope that he wld ever attend college. We ran a GoFundMe for him here. Then Ms Edith Mukarati and her colleagues committed and saw him through the 4 yrs at NUST. Last week Tinokunda graduated with a 1st class Bachelor of Commerce in Risk Management and Insurance degree.
These are some of the beautiful stories that happen on this platform. People of good heart doing good to other humans make this world a better place.
Again thanks to all who helped this young man. May the future open more doors for him.... and if you are close to any door, open it for him and others.

Hey guys today I am here to give my heart felt gratitude to @freemanchari the man who did a GoFundMe school fees appraisal for my tertiary education. The campaign saw positive results from various stakeholders to include @EdithMukarati , @kbgaka @Cde_Ostallos among others.

#KingsMemoirs *Revisited 1982.
Ever ordered food & left with a life lesson?
Back in 1982,I walked into Taguta Café in downtown Salisbury (Harare), that legendary joint where the smell of stew & sadza slapped you before you even sat down.
I was buying sadza & stew for myself and Sekuru Manu, who had just arrived from Njanja. I placed the order. The guy behind the counter ,a Zimbabwean of Asian descent with a sharp voice ,barked to the kitchen:
“ONE FLESH SADYA! ONE SADYA DJYULO FOR GENTLEMAN WITH RED SHIRT!”
I froze. Why mention Sekuru Manu’s red shirt? Was this some fashion commentary? Or a secret code? 😂😂😂😅
Months later, the mystery unraveled.
“Flesh sadya” was freshly cooked sadza
“Sadya dyulo” was yesterday’s sadza (sadza ranezuro or munya)
As for the red shirt, that was the city hustle.
They could spot who was woke (city guy) and who had a Strong Rural Background (SRB). If you looked like an arrivalist from the Reserves ,a little “dozy” ,they figured you wouldn’t mind the leftovers.
Poor Sekuru Manu never knew he was eating yesterday’s plate ,all because of that red shirt and that SRB look!
Lesson: In the city, even your wardrobe (and your vibe) could cost you a fresh meal. Tsitsitsitsitsi
