How it feels seeing all the AI generated posters and art for people to play Destiny 2 on June 9th that I can’t dislike, because my love for D2 is stronger than my hate for AI.

@_the_aurora @ilikewalot Oh I really can’t speak to the economics and viability of D3. NONE of us can without real data. The petition is to make noise! And trust me, Sony cares more about bad press and revenue impact over player count. Eg. PSN PC login, PS3 launch cost, Spidy in MCU, PS3 store.

@dontrezme @ilikewalot /IIRC they chose to continue D2 development over a D3 multiple times because they projected players would not game hop if it meant loosing all their loot. Which ultimately leads to DCV type choices

@_the_aurora @ilikewalot Yep. The math would be same. But if D3 comes in like what 2033 I’d be willing to pay double if it’s a quality game. Even if I don’t have time to pay as I’d be pushing 40s. Consumers stay w their beloved franchises. To OP’s point, D3 prospects are def NON-zero.

Your whole theory of what and how fanbases and consumers are built is off base and extremely narrow. a GOOD game is all D3 needs.

@IshtarAcademix @ilikewalot Oh boy. Let get the agreed upon point out of the way. They do need the time rich generation (20 yo & younger). I started D2 at 26. Been gaming since DOS days. Still massively variety. But D2 has my most hours. Also, ZERO spends on mtx. Only dlc & annual pass & dungeons.

"Fighting for us" Their job is to keep you strung along and paying for games. That is literally what they get paid for. Community managers are advertising directly to consumers, do you not do the same thing with content creation. Community is a buzz word, it's getting the base to go along with what the company wants. It's the same thing a good manager does with employees. Make sure to praise your plumber next time he fixes a leak in your house like he walks on water too. Don't forget to blame the pipe glue company when the pipe still leaks.

This reeks of higher up PR nonsense. The two community leads who have been fighting for us for a decade post nothing but the same pic of an article? That doesnt track. Makes you wonder what else they were silenced on over the years. Awaiting the day that they may speak freely.

@danhuilla I'll acknowledge the dev effort to restore it is economically impractical (remake level). I don't demand it. I'm a casual, not a lootchaser/raider. I replay campaigns & patrol spaces A LOT. And so, I loved/miss dcv content the most! Its my fav after Pale Heart & Dreaming City.

Out of interest can people who still mourn DCV and sunsetting leave a reply explaining why they hate it I'm not exactly pro-sunsetting I just find it hard to even think about it in 2026 I'm interested how it could still be people's biggest complaint

@ReaperknivesX Lightfall story was 💯 doodoo and Neomuna empty, BUT... it had fun quests, activities, & really cool Cabal architecture section. And the destination power delta made it the most FUN and challenging combat experience I've had, not mindless fodder like other patrol spaces.
