Here's some fun math while Marathon is being absolutely dog walked by Destiny 2 on a holiday weekend, on Steam. Why? Because the actual numbers are MUCH WORSE than this! 60-70% of all Destiny 2 players are on Console 67% of all Marathon players are on Steam Concurrently, more people played Destiny 2 (18.5K) on Steam today vs Marathon (11.4K). That means approximately: 46,000 were on Destiny 2 16,000 were on Marathon YIKES!? Tell me again why Sony chose Marathon over Destiny 2?

Destiny fans were not enough to support Destiny, so how is that gonna work. Bungie forgot their product was for people other than the hive mind. When you focus on the vocal minority that often don't show up when needed and forget the guy that has 2 hours to forget the world or the hard day he had at work. This is the result, complete failure and a larger company taking over.

I've seen (& signed) the petition going around. But I think the much more powerful response if you're hoping for some kind of future for the franchise is: Log on the week of June 9th. Dont' get me wrong, Sony execs aren't gonna fall to their knees in tears and insta-green-light D3 or anything. But seeing SO many players out there logging on to give one last hurrah to the franchise that meant so much to them - it'll speak volumes in its own way. At the very least, we'll have one more window of fun enjoying the last batch of new content in a game that meant so much to us. At best, it'll show how passionate the community still is, and just how badly so many of us want SOME kind of future for this franchise, no matter how long it might take to build. I'll see you out there in June. It's gonna be one hell of a ride.

Defend the devs that screwed up the game. Defend the people that pissed on your back and told you it was raining. Go after the well known Drama Farmer that the community raised up, because he hurt your feelings. Yes no one wanted to lose their job and at this point I'm sure they are thinking about you, while wondering where there next paycheck is coming from.

Bungie cultivated that immature attitude. They alienated the general audience for that attitude. There is nothing more toxic than a D2 fan in all of fandom. The problem is most of them don't play the game. They latched on to D2 for other reasons. Hey being popular on social media means your game is doing great.....Right?

I guess people are in the anger stage of their grief about Destiny 2's final update. Blaming community managers about a business decision that they weren't aware of has revealed the true color of some people.
There are some really immature people in the Destiny community saying some horrible things because their feelings got hurt and they need to point the finger at someone.
Now we're also seeing people who have been banned ask to be unbanned for the final update? That's hilarious.

Been saying this for a while. Marathon was Bungie's out. It didn't pan out though. The only reason to sell a company is if you don't want it.
D2 was burning out quickly and the cost to expand was astronomical, plus not having the audience to back it up.

So that's why we don't have DESTINY 3 Jason Schreier said that Bungie refused to develop a #Destiny3 after Destiny 2: The Final Shape, due to how much it would cost 😮💨 🗣️ IMO: I don't think there was any "winning" here. Sony probably wouldn't want to add on ~$500M + 6/7 years dev time, straight after spending $3.6B to acquire Bungie... Not when the company was already developing Destiny 2 expansions and almost ready to launch Marathon too... There wasn't enough manpower either way. 🤔 How do you guys think Sony & Bungie should have handled this?

Ive seen a couple comments saying we dont want d3 (either "we want d2 continuation" or "not under the current leadership") and on one hand i agree with some of the sentiments (i want leadership change) but nothing can happen if we dont focus on one main cause rn

Even if every single one of those sigs paid £70 for the game, that’s only just around £12m, unfortunately that absolutely is NOT enough to convince sony to make D3
Assuming D3 would have the same budget of around $200m as marathon, it would need around 3 million signatures.
