Today we remember Private William Rivers, aged 27, of the 1st Battalion, Leicestershire Regiment, who died on 21 October 1944. 🕯️ A son of William Alan and Pattie Rivers and the beloved husband of Frances Rivers, William is remembered with love by those at home in Haymills, Birmingham. Sad to hear that 103-yr-old RAF veteran, friend & fellow prisoner-of-war Harry Winter has died. Wireless Op Harry was badly injured when shot down in 1943 & narrowly escaped death on a number of occasions. RIP Harry; you served your nation with courage & dignity
