The dissolution of civility and decency in American politics make perfect sense once you realize that what is driving pretty much everyone is: “I really hate The Bad People. If there were less of The Bad People everything would be better”

@Upheval @tedcruz Ok so giving the dog the bone is a legitimately good reason. But don’t give your guy cooked bones! They can splinter and cut him up inside. Raw bones are the way.

@dosbottim @tedcruz I see your point but the only reason I buy the Tomahawks and pay extra for the bone is for him.

@Upheval @tedcruz As a guy who works with meat tomahawks are literally just big ribeyes. Same damn steak as the regular bone ins but you’ll pay extra for a giant bone. It just kind of makes me think dudes are overcompensating when they buy one.

@KnawLynx If you interpret this as 50 divided by 0.5, you are severely autistic and you should not operate heavy machinery.

@Regenluke @JeremyWingert79 To deny the evidence for those things is to deny God’s creation as it exists right in front of you.

@JeremyWingert79 I was taught relentlessly for 38 years that the earth is millions or billions or trillions of years old. Evolutionary theory from a childhood in every grade. Once I was saved, I realized all that was man-made bunk to hate God.

"You aren't qualified to homeschool your children." "Interesting. I need a graduate degree to teach my child 3rd-grade math?" "No, but you need to understand how children learn, different learning styles, and teaching methods." "How about I just get to know my child, and how he learns will become apparent very quickly." "No. You're ignoring classroom management techniques." "...Not sure I need classroom management techniques for my living room." "But you need to be an expert in teaching to teach your children?" "Will that guarantee better outcomes?" "Absolutely not. In fact, in most places, outcomes are getting worse with every passing year." "Sooo...what's the point?" "The point is that I spent time and money on a degree and you can't just go and do things without my approval it's totally not fair."

Men can’t breastfeed. Everyone knows that. It seems absurd, but here in Australia, a woman is being dragged before a court for criticising trans advocates for saying that they can. Her name is Jasmine Sussex. She’s a breastfeeding counsellor with 15 years of experience and she’s now facing a vilification complaint for defending basic biology against claims by men that they could breastfeed babies. She was stood down from her role. Cancelled from the internet. Shamed in the media. Hit with a court case. All for telling the truth. Stand with Jasmine Sussex and show this country that Australians won’t be intimidated.

@SandraR12178853 @JillMarinelli1 No, men can have unknown, untested excretions come out of their nipples by taking drugs. And the reason they do it is sexual gratification. We have seen many videos with men confessing to this.

@Chizitere_xyz Name one poor nobody of a woman that got a book deal from that. Now name one single rich guy whose life was actually ruined by it. Pitting average schlub guy against wealthy lady isn’t really a good comparison.

When a woman in her thirties or forties wakes up, realizes she feels unfulfilled in a stable marriage, and decides to blow up her entire life to "find herself," society throws a parade for her. She gets a book deal, a podcast, and absolute applause. Her choice to abandon her vows in pursuit of her own personal happiness is framed as a brave, empowering, Eat Pray Love awakening. But if a man wakes up at forty, realizes he has spent the last two decades working a soul-crushing job he hates purely to fund everyone else's lifestyle, and decides he wants to finally live for himself? He is absolutely demonized. He doesn't get a parade; he gets diagnosed with a "pathetic midlife crisis." He is labeled a selfish monster who abandoned his post

@occceno @DailyCA_MCQs @Math_files For the vast majority of human history people had very little qualms about marrying cousins. We think because royals care about sanguinity that the peaaants did. But lol they did not.

In order to be born, you needed: 2 parents 4 grandparents 8 great-grandparents 16 second great-grandparents 32 third great-grandparents 64 fourth great-grandparents 128 fifth great-grandparents 256 sixth great-grandparents 512 seventh great-grandparents 1,024 eighth great grandparents 2,048 ninth great-grandparents For you to be born today from 12 previous generations, you needed a total of 4,094 ancestors over the last 400 years. Think for a moment: How many struggles? How many battles? How many difficulties? How much sadness? How much happiness? How many love stories? How many expressions of hope for the future? – did your ancestors have to undergo for you to exist in this present moment...

@jessegenet More than that, you give 50% of your DNA to your kids, 25% to your grandkids, etc etc. in a couple hundred years your specific contribution is negligible or gone from your descendants. In other words, this is actually a very silly thing to worry about.

@jessegenet Most bloodlines die out no matter what you do. It’s estimated that if you go back far enough every person alive today is descended from about 20% of the human population. The other 80% is just gone. In a couple thousand years that same breakdown will be true

Conservatives who attend church weekly are the least likely to have ever been diagnosed with a mental health condition. Liberals who have low attendance are the most likely to have a diagnosis.
