Sunday around Dune Rd: Black-crowned Night Heron, Common Loons, 50+ Common Eiders & 3 Snow Buntings. (2) Bald Eagles were flying over Caleb Smith Park on Saturday. @BirdQueens

@DebbiToth @BirdQueens @BirdCentralPark @AudubonSS Not really. Just usual ducks. I unfortunately didn’t know about the painted bunting until a little while ago. We we so close to it.

@dotcalm9 @BirdQueens @BirdCentralPark @AudubonSS We were out there yesterday but did mention you and wonder if you were out that way. Did you see anything interesting?

It was a chilly day along Dune Road on the South Fork but that didn’t keep a nice variety of birds away: Common Goldeneye, Red Breasted Merganser, and Greater Yellow Legs. @BirdQueens @BirdCentralPark @AudubonSS

On this sub-zero (real feel) Saturday, I saw 2 dozen Horned Larks at Robert Moses, a 2 dozen Redheads (all tucked up) + a close-up Cormorant at Avon Lake in Amityville & a Lesser Scaup at Gilgo Marina. Plus 2 dozen Yellow Rumps and many, many Mockingbirds. @BirdQueens

This morning started in NYC with a surprise message on my car I sadly had to remove. Then headed to Jones Beach to look for a reported Lapland Larkspur among Horned Larks. No luck. But did see an Eastern Screech Owl + Carolina Wren in the Massapequa Preserve. @birdqueens

After weeks of searching, I finally got to see a Snowy Owl on LI today, my first of this season. Many birders were there and thankfully kept their distance. My Iphone video is not so great. I also ran into a drift of Snow Buntings, down the road. @BirdQueens

@THR Probably mad because he was left out of the SATC montage.

I've been chasing Snow Buntings all season with no luck, until a few hours ago. Today, I got an eyeful on the beach and in the parking lot. Ponquogue Beach. @BirdQueens

Today, I saw the Bullock's Oriole in East Islip for 30 seconds. Didn't get good shots, but at least I saw it. That's 2 lifers in 2 days. @BirdQueens

The Cassin's Sparrow, my first lifer of 2026. Glad it waited until I could get out to Montauk. It even preened in front of me. @BirdQueens
