Any idea what this super bright small object is next to the moon? Kinda hard to get a pic of. Second pic is with a spotting scope at 50x. Seems extremely round. Too bright to be a star I think.

If I only had $3000 this is exactly what I would buy (pre tax cuz tax is stupid) A Glock (which ever variant you want, 17,45,19, etc) - $400 Streamlight tlr1-HL $170 A holster from @B_1Tactical $70 500 rds of ammo from @FenixAmmunition - $130 That puts you at $770 for your pistol. I would buy an @palmettoarmory AR that already has backup irons on it for $579. (Pic below in the thread) A Sig MSR 1-6 for $288. A streamlight Protac for $120 750 rounds of ammo from Fenix -$345 A sling - you can find them for $40 from many places I would buy a belt with 2 rifle and double holster mag holder, and a dump pouch from @ExUmbrisDesigns - $360. I would buy a second holster from B1 for OWB - $70 I would then buy an H-harness and enhanced placard from ex umbris -$130 I would buy 3 mags for my Glock and 10 for my rifle (you can find them on eBay for roughly $10/per). Congrats, you only spent $2772 out of the $3000 so you can afford a @WL_TAC class now.

@MaxwellJadot @tndbaker06 I have a semi auto shotgun that jammed maybe once ever. Seen plenty of people short stroke a pump.

Shotguns are inferior to ARs for Home Defense. Hunting shotguns are inferior to tactical shotguns for home defense, and pump shotguns are inferior to semi auto shotguns for home defense.
Nobody gives a shit about the pump sound. Why isn’t your home defense gun loaded?

@IRULEYOU69 @tndbaker06 I have a semi auto that has a 3.5” chamber and can hold 5 rounds.
I’m still grabbing my 10.5” AR in a fight 🤷♂️ 30 rds of 77gr OTM is a bad time for a bad guy.

@tndbaker06 agreed on the pump sound its fuddlore bs, semi auto shottys have the pros and cons like most things, however idk man something about 3.5 inch chamber 12ga pump action just hits different, #4 buckshot = 54 pellets x 10 rounds or 00 buckshot = 18 pellets x 10.

@tndbaker06 I met an LEO once who had to respond to a shooting at a home. Person was trying to break in through a sliding GLASS door, home owner had a shotgun leveled at the person through the door. Intruder looked up, heard the warnings, saw the gun, and proceeded to pry the door open.

I believe everyone should own 5 base firearms, anything beyond is up to them.
1. PMAG adapter (carbine/rifle that takes STANAG magazines, chambered in .223/5.56) - should be equipped with red dot and white light
2. Glock mag adapter (any handgun that takes 15rd 9mm Glock magazines)
3. Semi-auto .22 LR rifle
4. Semi-auto .22 pistol
5. 12ga pump-action shotgun

You don’t actually need 12+ different guns.
You need what you can carry, plus some “property defense” ones that you have shot and trained with extensively.
Preferably ones that happen to be interchangeable with whatever magazines *may* wind up “laying around”
