Good morning Doug, we try to make sure we have the right train for the service but sometimes there are times where trains develop a fault. We aim to provide a replacement train with the same number of carriages, but this isn't always possible. We would rather use a train with fewer carriages than cancel the service completely, but we do appreciate how frustrating this is. - Noah

@GWRHelp just wondering if you guys think this is acceptable? Why is this (already normally busy) train running with half the number of carriages?!

@GWRHelp Interesting, the train manager told me it’s because you’ve diverted train stock for the trains going to Cheltenham! Awesome

@GWRHelp That’s fine… but why open the train and then suddenly turn on all the reservations 2 min before the train is meant to leave and most people are already sat down? Literally just happened on the 18:01. So annoying.

We always intend for our seat reservation systems to be in operation; however, this is not always possible due to unforeseeable circumstances. Sometimes, and particularly during major disruption, we know that many customers will need to travel on alternative services and therefore most seat reservations become invalid. In these circumstances, it can make more sense for us to turn the system off to avoid confusion. Please include photos of your ticket and reservation, as well as details of which stations you had to stand between - Steve

@GWRHelp whhhhy are there so many problems getting seat reservations showing on your trains? It causes absolute chaos 🤬

@GWRHelp I mean when I get on trains from Paddington the amount of times seat reservations aren’t show at all or they’re shown late after half the train has sat down! It’s nothing to do with the website!
