Three weeks ago, my 23-year-old neighbor was kidnapped on her way to Kontagora in Niger State. While in captivity, the bandits repeatedly raped her taking turns sleeping with her night after night. Still, they kept bargaining with her father over the phone, demanding ransom even as they violated her. Her father fought with everything he had. He hustled day and night, borrowed from everyone, took loans, sold whatever he could determined to bring his daughter home. When he finally gathered the full amount, he called the bandits and begged them, ‘Please, give the phone to my daughter. Let me speak to her. I want her to know I’m coming for her.’ They gave her the phone. In a broken, traumatized voice, she told her father: ‘Dad, do not suffer yourself looking for the money. They have been sleeping with me. I’m traumatized. I can’t forgive myself. Even if I’m released, I’ll kill myself. Don’t bother paying the ransom.’ Those were the last words she ever spoke to him. While her father was still holding the phone, he heard the gunshot. He heard his daughter being killed. Moments later, the bandits sent pictures of her remains to him, a final act of cruelty. A 23-year-old girl. My neighbor. Someone’s daughter, someone’s sister, someone’s friend gone in the most horrific way possible. This is not just one story. This is the nightmare too many families are living in Niger State and across Nigeria. Young women snatched on the roads, violated, used as bargaining chips, and discarded like nothing. Living in Nigeria has become truly scary. You wake up, you step out, and you don’t know if you or your loved ones will return home. The fear is constant. The pain is constant. And too often, justice never comes. Rest in peace to my neighbor.
Sir David Onyemaizu🦍@SirDavidBent

As you're out there looking for your daily bread, I pray Nigeria never happens to you.

@benmurraybruce You were once an exceptional business man. The system has failed that is why you think you need to be a praise singer in your old age to make a living. Politics is now looked on, as a career. You can’t speak truth to power anymore

I am encouraged by the decisive steps being taken by the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, to strengthen security across Nigeria. The approval for the immediate establishment of at least 1,000 forest guards, alongside an increased military presence in our forests and vulnerable communities, demonstrates a proactive approach to tackling insecurity at its roots. Nuhu Ribadu has continued to show focus, commitment, and a clear understanding of the security challenges facing our nation. Securing our forests is critical to denying criminal elements safe havens and restoring confidence among citizens. Nigeria needs bold actions, not mere rhetoric. This initiative is a welcome development, and I commend the NSA and all security agencies working tirelessly to keep our country safe. Together, we can build a more secure and prosperous Nigeria.

Where are the cows? That was the imbecilic question that the “master strategist” asked years back. We have to decide whether to allow this wicked and soulless politician continue ruining Nigeria or send him packing from the Villa. Voting for or supporting a dictator whose preoccupation is amassing wealth, state capture and agbero politics will always have disastrous consequences. Innocent children are teachers are going through horrible experiences in the hands of terrorists, but a so-called Jagaban is busy politicking and some people are applauding him. Tinubu is a plague.

Any artist, actor, content creator, or influencer who stays silent about the insecurity and suffering in this country simply doesn’t care. When it’s time for their projects, albums, movies, shows, or campaigns, reciprocate that same energy. Ignore them.

Emeka Ike hails from one of Peter Gregory Obi’s strongholds. He was singled out for slaughter; to make an example of. How did Lere Olayinka gain access to Emeka’s classified information? How was he able to access the database? Opposition must demand an immediate forensic examination of INEC’s database. Lere Olayinka has access to INEC’s backend. It only means that the Commission has been totally compromised. The rot is deeper than we thought. You will get to your polling unit—only to discover that the BVAS machine cannot read your card. You will discover that INEC & agents of the ruling party (have searched out your name, & deleted your INFO from the system). Agent provocateurs will transfer your PVC registration to a different polling unit or state. A place far away from where you are supposed to vote. Peter Obi should not take this lightly! From what we witnessed at FCT local election, INEC transferred those who voted for Obi to distant locations, far away from where they were supposed to vote. People only got to find out on the day of that local council election. On top of that, Wike declared a curfew. He prevented people from moving around. You will be surprised that voters in certain regions & places where Obi got high number of votes are being mass deleted from the database as I speak. That way, their PVCs cannot be read. Peter Obi’s stronghold is being tampered with. This is no longer a scaremongering, it’s a FACT! This is disenfranchisement on a grand scale. The above are some of the many ways that Nigerians are going to be disenfranchised—worse, restricted! The inmates have taken over the asylum. Mad men are running things now. INEC will put the lives of NYSC officials in danger. A widespread disenfranchisement like that could lead to break down of law & order. Time to fix this is now! Tomorrow might be late! If an APC urchin can have Admin access to INEC’s backbend, then nothing is impossible! Opposition must leave nothing to chance. We must deal with this issue NOW! Current INEC must be disbanded! Joash Amupitan must go!

INEC gave the APC the login to their database. Wike’s assistant has revealed how they shut down the IREV. They are running INEC at the backend. Joash Amupitan is compromised! Any result he declares will be REJECTED! INEC will set Nigeria on fire. Mallam El-Rufai is in detention. He was arrested for allegedly tapping the cell phone of the NSA. Wike’s assistant has committed a much heavier crime. Lere Olayinka has compromised INEC server. If Lere is not immediately picked up by the DSS for publishing a classified information, then Nigerians will take it that INEC is working for the APC. In the meantime, Professor Joash Amupitan MUST tender his resignation. This is the second time he has been caught showing his partisanship & obvious bias. Amupitan is in close association with the APC. INEC is far from independent. Delaying the inevitable would only lead to events that may jeopardize the fragile demoCrazy in Nigeria. A compromised umpire cannot conduct a general election. People should know when to quit! 😡

@channelstv Dillusional clowns. It funny that Tinubu has actually underperformed compared to Buhari’s government that destroyed the economy. APC as a party has no ideology to better Nigeria. They came with the mindset of it’s thier turn to loot Nigeria

Seun: Can Nigerians compare their lives today with where they were in May 2023 [when Tinubu took over], and should they feel more hopeful or disappointed? Felix Morka: Nigerians have every reason to be more confident about their country and therefore more hopeful about the future because the state of affairs in 2023 compared to today is actually like comparing night and day [Felix Morka is the National Spokesman for the APC.] #SundayPolitics

Supporting bad governance because it benefits you today is a dangerous gamble. Many think they can dine with the devil using a long spoon. Sooner or later, the spoon disappears, and they realise they were never exempt from the consequences. A broken system eventually serves everyone the same meal.
