Saturday, May 23: 1:27 p.m.-Message from Cypress PD Mandatory evacuation orders remain in place while public safety crews continue working on the hazardous materials incident in the City of Garden Grove. As you continue to stay safely out of the affected area, we know it is incredibly difficult to be away from your homes and businesses. Please know the Cypress Police Department has additional units in the area and is proactively monitoring evacuated neighborhoods. Officers are conducting regular patrols, maintaining a visible presence and watching for suspicious activity. Anyone attempting to commit crimes in evacuated areas will be subject to enforcement action. Thank you for continuing to follow evacuation orders and helping keep yourself and first responders safe

There is understandable concern about an explosion as one of the possible outcomes. OCFA Division Chief Nick Freeman and Dr. CK, the Orange County Health Officer, provide an operational and health care perspective on the evacuation zones that account for that possibility.

The @BWIFire team will conduct a fire training exercise this morning, beginning at approximately 5:30am.   Smoke and fire may be visible by those at the terminal and in areas near the airport. Please do not be alarmed.

The Kansas City Kansas Fire Dept will soon receive two new urban Pumpers. An Attack Tanker/Pumper will soon follow. Two more Pumpers & a Tractor Drawn Ladder Truck will arrive this November. Our apparatus fleet is in the best condition in the modern era! Thanks for the support!

Yesterday, GPD and GFD were dispatched to Grapevine Lake, where a Tesla Cybertruck was stranded in the water. The driver drove into the lake to use the “Wade Mode” feature when the vehicle became disabled. The passengers abandoned the vehicle and the driver was arrested.
