@HarmonicLodge @Thinkwert in motorcycle classes in the 2000s they told us to stick a magnet on the bottom of our bikes to help trigger these easier
English

@Thinkwert These used to be ubiquitous. Used to be super annoying for bikes (either bicycles or motorcycles). Now most intersections used cameras to detect when vehicles are present.
English

@blind_via it is particularly annoying that the swelled cells cause the bottom of the laptop bow out too, making the laptop sit on its center and rock around
English

Wow, do thin laptops actually do this? How many batteries is that? All the tablets I have opened up lately just have one large flat cell, nothing like this. fake?

@PLA_MilitaryUpd wouldn't we just laser the balloon? Doesn't seem like a threat.
English

@QuinnyPig @awscloud why the heck did they make the kms-related error message for ec2 launches "Client.InternalError: Client error on launch" ???
English

“kms” is gen-z shorthand for “kill myself”, and should not be confused with @awscloud KMS which makes me want to kill myself.

In graph theory, there are algorithms that find the shortest path between two nodes. I made one with pure CSS (including the graph drawing).
Drag the nodes, and the shortest path will update in real-time!

@blind_via I would have expected the opposite for the purpose of reducing BOM variety

The thing I dislike most about this design is the use of identical connectors. It's a good idea to not do this if possible, making the connectors dis-similar makes more obvious when plugging into the wrong jack. Unfortunately, this was a user choice not mine, and he is aware of good practice of not doing it, but it's convenient cause he has a big pile of these already. Requirements come from all kinds of different reasons and sometimes counteract good decisions. But it is what it is.

@blind_via scribble over the permanent marker using one of the dry erase markers, it should make it wipe off

Over Yaizu, Shizuoka, Japan, two Japan Air Lines (JAL) aircraft, a Boeing 747 and a McDonnell Douglas DC-10, very narrowly avoid a midair collision by a margin of only a couple hundred feet.
Both aircraft noticed each other and took radical evasive maneuvers, resulting in seven serious injuries and 91 minor injuries, but both aircraft make it down to the ground intact.
If the planes had collided, 677 people would have died. It would have been the deadliest single aviation incident of all time. But it was just barely avoided.
Below is a simulated recreation of the incident by The Flight Channel.
