IT guy unplugged a dusty serial cable from the back of the CNC controller bc it "wasn't labeled in the database." That cable was the only thing telling the coolant pump not to melt the drill bit. He looked at the smoking machine & asked said he'd submit a "trouble ticket". FML

@Thinkwert These used to be ubiquitous. Used to be super annoying for bikes (either bicycles or motorcycles). Now most intersections used cameras to detect when vehicles are present.

I had a buddy in college (prone to tall tales) who told me that there were secret sensors embedded in the pavement and if you didn’t pull your car up far enough the light wouldn’t turn green. He was right?? All these years I thought it was just a fantastic tale he told me.

@blind_via it is particularly annoying that the swelled cells cause the bottom of the laptop bow out too, making the laptop sit on its center and rock around

Here is a concept for the PLA with weather balloons armed with loitering ammunition packed on racks. We could float thousands of these 70,000-80,000 feet up on the air (Where the F-22 cant even reach as we tested a few years ago😉) and launch saturation attacks on enemies.

“kms” is gen-z shorthand for “kill myself”, and should not be confused with @awscloud KMS which makes me want to kill myself.

In graph theory, there are algorithms that find the shortest path between two nodes. I made one with pure CSS (including the graph drawing). Drag the nodes, and the shortest path will update in real-time! css-tip.com/graph-theory/ A demo powered by all the modern CSS features🤩

The thing I dislike most about this design is the use of identical connectors. It's a good idea to not do this if possible, making the connectors dis-similar makes more obvious when plugging into the wrong jack. Unfortunately, this was a user choice not mine, and he is aware of good practice of not doing it, but it's convenient cause he has a big pile of these already. Requirements come from all kinds of different reasons and sometimes counteract good decisions. But it is what it is.

Over Yaizu, Shizuoka, Japan, two Japan Air Lines (JAL) aircraft, a Boeing 747 and a McDonnell Douglas DC-10, very narrowly avoid a midair collision by a margin of only a couple hundred feet. Both aircraft noticed each other and took radical evasive maneuvers, resulting in seven serious injuries and 91 minor injuries, but both aircraft make it down to the ground intact. If the planes had collided, 677 people would have died. It would have been the deadliest single aviation incident of all time. But it was just barely avoided. Below is a simulated recreation of the incident by The Flight Channel.
