The low point of the DGMO press briefing came when a reporter from The Hindu repeatedly pressed for information about potential losses of Indian military jets during combat. Air Marshal A K Bharti firmly rebuffed the query, reminding the media that India remains in an active combat situation, and revealing operational details could benefit the enemy. He rightly emphasized that the key question is whether the mission objectives were achieved—and the answer, he said, is a resounding “Yes.” He also assured the nation: “All our pilots are safe.” Make no mistake: in the days ahead, various arms lobbies, funded by foreign agencies, will go into overdrive, planting stories through pliable journalists willing to act against India’s interests. This will be part of a globally coordinated campaign aimed at influencing public opinion, either to promote their preferred military hardware or to undermine India’s defense preparedness.
