My piece The Echosystem has been on display at the #DataObscura exhibition. By scraping online news and twitter feeds this visualisation captures a real-time slice of the online echo chambers and puts that into a digital “fish tank” suitable for observation. More info soon :)

Let me explain how this works. The model is Putin's model. 1. Trump nationalizes shares. 2. Later, shares are gifted to Trump cronies. 3. Repeat with every large US corporation until the wealth of the nation is in the hands of the new Royal Family.

One of my greatest current fears around AI is that people will start making bad life decisions right now - like giving up on learning software development - because they panic that future AI is going to make their current effort pointless

@gordonnl I've made something similar (magic-circle.dev), so totally agree on the usefulness of a tool like this. Really interested where this is going, especially on how you're designing your API!

I started out with an idea to move tooling to separate windows, ended up trying to make my ideal controls API (especially for WebGL work) - Built with Svelte runes - No callbacks needed - No state code duplication - Works with shader uniforms AND consts

Been working on a small project that allows users to quickly visualise, inspect and edit GLTF/GLB files online using @threejs. A first version for testing can be found here gltf.magic-circle.dev

A reminder to progressives everywhere - the continued threat of the far-right is real and on our doorstep. The next year is going to be pivotal for standing up for and defending our values - in London, in Europe and across the world. bbc.in/47MeDNA

The way I see creative coding is like this... It has nothing to do with 3D... or even 2D. Creative coder is someone who can solve a problem in a creative way. Creative problem solving skills I believe it is something this new generation coders are lacking probably due to all these sophisticated toolsets and frameworks out there these days. While people who uses Spline, Webflow and Framer can do pretty much 90% of the web design projects out there, there are still limitations on making something specific which requires a creative solve. The gap for sure will get closer in time but creative coders can jump to another tech area easily if they want to adapt something new. They can go become an "artist", switch to do some installation work, mograph, game dev, machine learning, etc... So creative coders shouldn't really need to panic about their future.

3D on the web has never felt more *solved* that it does right now. r3f is taking very complex low level challenges and making them 'simple and familiar' for non graphics developers. This last year has felt like a turning point. 🧵🧵 twitter.com/0xca0a/status/…

I think my favourite blob on the FT charts (which are a fantastic example of finding and telling the story and getting rid of as much else as possible so that the story speaks) is Eindhoven. A remote post-industrial lightbulb factory without a university doomed to decline,......
