The Congress, the Left front and the CPI-ML (Liberation) on Sunday rejected an offer by Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee to form a united platform against the Bharatiya Janata Party. “Absolutely not. We will not accept anyone identified as criminal, extortionist, corrupt and communal. We will stand by people and the marginal population,” CPI(M) state secretary Md Salim said in a reply to the proposal Banerjee made on Saturday even though his party is not in power in any state for the first time in 49 years, having lost the Kerala polls. @jksksxo @HerrBains sounds like khalistani-isi version of history. gandhis and congress instigated killings even releasing convicts serving lifetime sentences to kill sikhs. convicts went free. it was also hindus and the rss that protected many other sikh men and women from the violence

Dear President @realDonaldTrump Greetings. As a Member of Parliament from India, I write in response to reports of your congratulations to PM Narendra Modi on the West Bengal Assembly election results. These are state-level elections—an internal matter of India’s federal democracy. Any external endorsement appears premature and misplaced. More importantly, serious concerns have emerged. Numerous complaints allege an atmosphere of fear, intimidation, and systemic pressure. There are widespread perceptions that the Election Commission did not act impartially and that its functioning appeared to favor the BJP, raising questions about institutional neutrality. Equally troubling are allegations regarding the extensive deployment of central forces, which many believe created coercion rather than confidence. Senior leaders, including Mamata Banerjee, have publicly raised concerns about the fairness of the process. These reflect a broader unease that cannot be ignored. Democracy is not just about elections—it is about ensuring they are free, fair, and credible. When serious allegations arise, they warrant scrutiny, not celebration. Were these concerns considered before your statement? Given your emphasis on democratic values, I urge a more informed and balanced view. Thank your very much

.@ikamalhaasan voiced support for Vijay after the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections delivered a hung verdict. In a strongly worded statement, Kamal said not inviting Vijay, whose party won 108 seats, to form the government would amount to disrespecting the people’s mandate. Citing the Supreme Court’s S.R. Bommai judgment, he stressed that majority must be tested on the Assembly floor and not inside Raj Bhavan. #KamalHaasan #Vijay #TVK #TamilNaduPolitics #MKStalin #TVKVijay

The numbers don't seem to add up. Whatever government is cobbled together is likely to be unstable with various pulls and pressures. Tamil Nadu deserves better. President's rule with fresh elections may be the best course, this time with a very strict "no cash for votes" enforcement. Then we will see who has the real mandate. I think the @TVKVijayHQ will come back with a super majority and if the DMK-AIADMK want to stop that, let them fight together. The BJP should fight alone, even if it leads to zero seats, time for a fresh start for the BJP in TN. Let the people decide afresh.

I would like to appeal to all Members of Parliament… Please reflect upon your conscience, remembering the women in your own families. The legislation to ensure women’s reservation in legislative bodies is a significant opportunity to do justice to women of our nation. Please do not deprive our Nari Shakti of new opportunities. If this amendment is passed unanimously, it will further empower the women of our country and strengthen our democracy. Let us come together today to create history. Let us ensure that the women of India, who are half of the nation’s population, receive their rightful due.

If you are following the TCS Nashik controversy, pause for a moment. A 26-year-old pregnant woman, Nida Khan, was turned into the face of a national outrage within hours. Called a “mastermind.” Some branded her terrorist, absconding. Projected as an “HR head.” Dragged into wild conspiracy theories. Now reports suggest she wasn’t even in HR, wasn’t absconding, and hadn’t worked in the Nashik office for months. So what was this? An investigation… or a full-blown media trial? A workplace complaint became “Corporate Jihad.” Rumours became headlines. And a woman’s life became collateral damage. If she is guilty, let the law punish her. But if she is not -who takes responsibility for this public lynching? This is not journalism. This is narrative manufacturing. @TCS @nashikpolice @DGPMaharashtra @NCWIndia @PressCouncil_IN @MIB_India

I have listened to your concerns and I understand your sentiment around this. I want to add more context to my earlier post. The document currently circulating is an outdated internal training document. It is not an HR policy. That said, it contained an incorrect line about bindi/tilak that should never have been written and does not reflect our values or actual practice. When we discovered this on February 17, well before this became a public conversation, we immediately removed it. But I should have caught this earlier. As Founder and CEO, the responsibility for such lapses is mine. I have asked my team to bring all such materials under stricter review, and I will personally ensure this is addressed going forward. We are also looking into how this found its way into our training content. Let me be absolutely clear. Lenskart does not and will never restrict any form of respectful religious expression. This includes bindi, tilak, or any such symbols of faith. Our team members have always been, and will always be, free to express their beliefs with pride. I also want to thank everyone who raised this. Your voice helps us improve and stay true to what we stand for.

Hi, all. I’ve been seeing an inaccurate policy document going viral about Lenskart. I want to speak directly that this document does not reflect our present guidelines. Our policy has no restrictions on any form of religious expression, including bindi and tilak, and we continue to review our guidelines regularly. Our grooming policy has evolved over the years and outdated versions do not represent who we are today. We apologize for the confusion and concern this situation has caused. We as a company, continue to learn and build. Any lapses in our language or policies have and will continue to be addressed. We have thousands of team members across Bharat who wear their faith and culture proudly every day at our stores. They are Lenskart. Lenskart was built in Bharat, by Indians, for Indians. Every symbol and every tradition our people carry is a part of who we are as a company. I will never let that be compromised. 🙏

#WATCH | Kolkata, West Bengal | Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's grandnephew, Chandra Kumar Bose, says, "...The BJP is against the Constitution because its one-point agenda is to divide and rule, to divide communities for vote bank politics... a policy that was vehemently opposed by my grandfather, Sarat Chandra Bose, and his younger brother, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose... I cannot accept the BJP's way of thinking... I decided to leave, and I did not immediately join any party... I found that the TNC comes close to following an inclusive and secular ideology..." He adds, "We are having the state elections in Bengal. The TMC will definitely come out victorious... TMC has a much greater responsibility to unite the nation... all like-minded parties should unite to implement the concept of being a 'Bharatiya'; only then will we survive... I'm not an astrologer, but definitely, Mamata Banerjee would be victorious (from Bhabanipur)..."
