The irony is that less people earn a livable wage BECAUSE minimum wage is too high. Want more poors to get livable wage? Get rid of minimum wage. In Washington. $17 min wage. Use a restaurant as an example. 16yo high school dishwasher doesn’t need a livable wage, just enough to pay for gas and beer or whatever. He could make $7 an hour and be gucci. Serves/hosts also don’t need $17 min wage. They can make like $10 and supplement with tips. Cooks are usually adults who do need a livable wage. But it’s being robbed from them to pay high school kids wages that are too high. I bought a restaurant in 2016. Min wage was $9.42. Serves made 9.42 and cooks made like $18, almost double. Now servers make $17 and cooks make $22. Cooks got screwed. Cooks being only ones who should be getting a livable wage. Side consequence. Most high school kids don’t work now, been priced out. Not one positive comes from minimum wage. It distorts and wrecks things. Side joke, chefs are all emo libs. Mine no different. He applauded when they raised minimum wage. BREAKING: US jobs numbers have now been revised down in each of the last 13 months, by a total of -710,000 jobs. This means employment was initially overstated by an average of ~55,000 jobs per month. US job numbers were revised down by another -4,000 jobs in January and -65,000 in December.
