@CMMwine@Winemag It´s biggest obstacle is how ordinary it becomes at high yields, without the ever-present "HERE I AM" of Sauvignon Blanc, or the accepted winemaking of Chardonnay.
I think it has a broad spectrum though, from "Good" through to "As good as it gets". Which is quite something.
Russia forgives again: Moscow canceled $ 20 billion in debt to African countries
At the Russia-Africa Forum in St. Petersburg, an agreement was reached on the partial cancellation of Somalia's debt. Two "historic documents" were signed for debts totaling $691 million.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow had canceled a total of $20 billion in debt owed to African countries. Angola was forgiven of its debts of $3.5 billion that arose as a result of the purchase of weapons from the Soviet Union, Ethiopia - $5 billion, Algeria - $5.7 billion, and Libya - $4.5 billion.
@Eagle66017981@PieterDuToit@News24 Oddly enough, I doubt it'll be remembered that way in a few months. Mostly, the world remember that there are sometimes laws as well as the rule-of-law, regarding import of weapons.
@PieterDuToit@News24 When the diplomatic storm dust has settled down and the last laugh silent, Poland will wake up and find out that it has scored a diplomatic own goal, and its goodwill in Africa, Asia and the global South squandered for a few hrs of school boy prank & thrill at the Warsaw airport.
The return journey from Poland for 120 security personnel, never deployed as planned by the SAPS Presidential Protection Service and put up in Warsaw hotels while the president was in Ukraine and Russia, starts now. We’re an hour late, but who’s counting. @News24
@PieterDuToit@News24 Why's the president's head of protection travelling separate to the president??
Does the president even have protection where he is now? (Not that his presence makes a difference in our lives)
This is unbelievable. The Polish authoriries are still refusing to budge. Gen Wally Rhoode, head of the Presidential Protection Service stands to the left, on his phone. We are advised to get onto the plane. “It could get worse,” an unnamed SAA official says. @News24
@YVawda@PieterDuToit@News24 Diplomatic immunity is not like a magic wand or a Harry Potter cloak. You still need paperwork in order according to where you're going.
@ADistributist@Lompie77@PieterDuToit@News24 No, it's not a transit hub... they can't fly into Kyiv, but have to take a train. That's the core problem... they're trying to arrive in Poland with weapons and then go overland with them to Kyiv.
@NdzaviDerrick@PieterDuToit We have to face the fact that SA has a major and chronic problem with falsified papers. It's not surprising that everyone always wants to double check our papers for being real and correct.
After the Polish authorities promised buses to take passengers and crew to the airport terminal, it was however withdrawn after momentarily hovering around the plane. They don’t want anyone from this plane to disembark, and are making it extremely uncomfortable for everyone here.
Cyril Ramaphosa, asked about his call for de-escalation: "I do believe that Ukrainians believe they must fight and not give up."
But during apartheid, he says, South Africans respected Nelson Mandela when he said we had to make peace. Proposals should be put on the table.
@RolandPeens@ExAnimoWineCo Bard isn't intrinsically better for those reasons. Those two aspects are easily remedied for ChatGPT, but simply is on hold for now.
Google Bard looks superior to ChatGPT, and its free.
Can anyone beat Google with its ginormous database?
Interesting estimates from Bard below, especially Sadie which would translate into a crazy PE ratio...
