No till soybeans into corn stalks can be a challenge. Especially when corn yields well over 200 bushel. This grower ran air seeder on angle to the corn rows and results look great. Pretty near a perfect stand of beans

@kevinki16180099@modernfarmer Train goes by 4x week to Tillsonburg and back. Could load hogs out of loading chute. Train chasers are an under radar tourism. 3rd group this month.
@modernfarmer@drewdebruyn One train with XX rail cars for transporting goods would remove XXXX trucks off the road....This "just in time" delivery killed the railways ..Looking back every grain elevator, town, village was on a rail line. My ancestors sent hogs to Toronto on trains
I've been doing pulpit supply at Knox Presbyterian Church in Cranbrook, Ontario for a few months. Not the big Cranbrook in BC, the hamlet nestled along the Maitland River in Huron County. As part of my research for this week's sermon I have been digging into local history 1/X
@modernfarmer@Lyonseed@islandviewag@ayrporte What is old is new again. Certainly seems like rail was more passenger friendly back in day. Need the train for the people but need the people for the train.
@Lyonseed@islandviewag@ayrporte@drewdebruyn@VIA_Rail I worked with shortline rail way back in my hot minute as a grain trader to bring in soymeal. My experience was that the shortline folks were awesome but fell victim to CN jerking everyone around on car arrival times.

@islandviewag@Davethetrainman Will be owned by VIA Historical Association. They own at least 3 passenger cars. Goal to operate a historical train in 2028 to celebrate VIA rail being 50 years old.
Great to see Prime Minister @JustinTrudeau and @MayorOliviaChow at the Pig Mobile today! Thanks for stopping by and chatting with Oxford County pork producer and Board Member TJ Murray about Canadian agriculture 🇨🇦 @THERAWF#RAWF102
Yesterday, we hosted our inaugural joint-lobby day on the Hill with the Canadian Meat Council (CMC). We spent the day meeting with Parliamentarians to discuss critical issues facing the Canadian pork industry.
Thank you Minister MacAulay for meeting with CPC Chair, René Roy, CMC Chair, Russ Mallard, and Ontario Pork Producers Chair, Tara Terpstra, to engage in conversation surrounding trade issues, labour needs in the pork value chain, and ASF recovery program planning.
Members, staff, and the Board participated in further discussions with MP Karen Vecchio, MP Larry Maguire, and MP Bernard Généreux.
As national leaders in the sector, it's crucial we continue to collaborate to be a united voice for Canada's 8000 pork producers and processors. CPC is committed to building and maintaining strong relationships with Canada's policymakers to advance the Canadian pork industry.
