@bloodstreamrunz The myth of Hermaphroditus is where we get the word from, but that doesn't mean we know what inspired it. It was likely an intersex condition like PAIS but the myth was to represent the enjoinment of man and woman in one.

applying our modern understanding of 'transexual' and 'intersex' to the past is anachronic and trying to decide if the depictions of eunuch, hermaphroditic bodies of the past are about intersex people or trans people is nonsensical, it's about neither and can be about both
